Hi

Can anyone help with this?
i am having problems with the picture when playing pes2010 on ps3 on my LCD samsung full hd tv. i have the resolution at 1080p using a HDMI cable. when i pass a ball to another player, the picture is blurry, does anyone else have this problem and what can be done about it? would it have anything to do with the tv settings? ive had this problem before with a hd ready tv but i presummed this would not happen on a full hd tv. would a LG TV be a better option? does it matter if i have a cheap hdmi cable, is there an expensive hdmi cable that might work better? i have also tried playing on 720p and the picture is the same as 1080p
any advice would be appreciated

It's not possible to play the game in 1080p on the PS3. It's not technically possible to play it on full 1080p on the 360 either. So what are you getting at?

No a cheap hdmi cable doesn't matter. I'm using a very cheap one myself.

Maybe it's lcd motion lag. Many Samsung's have a setting called game mode. Try turning that on if you have it. Also in your PS3 settings, set the resolution to automatic instead of choosing 720p or 1080p. You should also use limited rgb instead of full range rgb. Hope that solves it. Good luck.

How new is your model of t.v? Some early models suffer from motion blur. But I would be surprised if this happened in PES.

its a brand new tv bought a month ago, its a series 5 samsung full hd, it seems to be motion blur but surely this shudnt happen with a full hd tv?

Wow... Ok. First, motion blur is something put into a game to give it a sense of realism. When you turn in real life, everything is blurred for a split second due to us only being able to see things at 30 FPS. Hence the name 'motion blur'. The only games that I know of that have motion blur are Killzone 2 and Medal of Honor: Airborne.

Second, your TV might be manually upscaling the image, reducing image quality and making the image lag. If you can't find somewhere to turn this upscaling off, you either need to suffer through it or play on a different TV. The quality of the HDMI cable matters not. I have seen comparisons of $70 dollar HDMI cables and $10 HDMI cables, and there is no difference. It also could be that your TV doesn't support 1080p. I had this problem on my old TV. The screen would flicker on the "dashboard", but in game it was fine. I got a new TV anyway.

^Full HD is 1080P. So his tv supports 1080p. I think it's a framerate problem.Does this happen with other games. And what's your tv's framerate? Also try game mode too.

Not really. Depending on age, the phrase "Full HD" can be describing 720p, 1080i, or 1080p. If this problem is what I think, then his TV is upscaling the image to a resolution that isn't supported. I know about this mate, been through many HDTV's.

WOW i thought you guys would have known this! PES2010 default it 720p so play it at that only, on the back of the cover it says only 720p and below, so change your settings to 420p and up-to 1080p not just 1080p alone.

Hi mate, i've got a LCD Samsung 1080p TV too :)

I have not got any problems with it, it works fine and my PS3 setting is on 1080p...
I have been playing PES2010 on it since October 09 and I have never had a problem, maybe it's just your TV? Check your HDMI cable and PS3 settings..

Hope this helps.

Thanks Liverpool way, i had this problem before with a hd ready tv so i presummed with the full hd it wud be ok, its very annoying when passing the ball to another player, the player receiving the ball blurs abit, what PS3 settings do you use?

^Try checking different resolutions and the ps3 HDMI settings. Try 720p only and then switch to others. Or check every box so the game will automatically adjust itself. Thats whaT i DO AND HAVE NOT PROBLEMS AT ALL.
Have you considered that it's a problem regarding the game and not the TV?

Not really. Depending on age, the phrase "Full HD" can be describing 720p, 1080i, or 1080p. If this problem is what I think, then his TV is upscaling the image to a resolution that isn't supported. I know about this mate, been through many HDTV's.

So have I appearently.:)
When the TV is 720p only, it's called HD READY not full HD. Well at least that's what I've seen in stores and online stores.
My TV is HD ready but can be upscaled to 1080p.

I've got a 40" lcd Samsung and it looks wonderfull with no lag issues. There is a setting found in general settings called GAME MODE it's amazing the difference it makes. Make sure to deselect it when doing any thing else than gaming, or do as i do, set the lead or channel that u use for gaming to game mode and all the others different depending on what ur doing.:w00t

^What? That proves my point. HD ready is 720p. I never mentioned HD READY 1080P. Full HD is where it's at. And when it gets that label the TV is full HD capable of displaying the best possible image meaning 1080p and the other stuff.
However a TV with a label of HD ready only is ALWAYS 720p.
When the label says FULL HD or 1080p it means full HD (1080p). Not 720p upscaled.

ok here is the thing ur tv is missing .. its called response time ... for gaming u need 2ms-5ms response time. the more the MS the more it will look blurry. my 24 inch samsung LCD monitor got 5 ms ( written in front of the monitor ) and its quite nice. 2ms is even better. but i think ur one is more than 8 ms
