I hate what you guys say of Totti when it clearly seems you have rarely seen him play. Some of you guys are saying that he'd be playing for some big club such as Real Madrid, Chelsea, Barcelona or whatever. You seem to underestimate AS Roma. It's silly of you. Undoubtedly, Roma can be placed among the best clubs in the world, although they haven't been in sublime form for the past years, for at least a decade to go. You guys don't seem to realize what being a big club means; to you it means winning trophies. But there are very few trophies to be won when compared to the number of teams competing for them. AS Roma are ever title contenders or at least conceivable winners for any major tournaments. It wouldn't seem farfetched that AS Roma win a Champions League or a Seria A title. Because of Roma's lack of form in recent years, you belittle one of the best playmakers of the last ten years or so. I don't need to tell you what he can do, because you'd have to research that for yourself. I can say that he has had the difficult task of keeping Roma where it is. But you guys think about Real Madrid, but do you know the last time Real Madrid won a title? Chelsea are a great team, but Roma is, too. Teams rise and fall. It won't be long till Chelsea falls. They'd still be a big club. They have means to buy "world class" players, but I think the price of their signings doesn't indicate anything whatever of what they will achieve in a season. Will you ever hear a player say, "We signed Michael Ballack, Germany's star midfielder - he was worth 30K - we are the best club in the world - we are going to win it all this year. All top players are equal. No one player can claim to be better than any other, because form and fitness are the only things that matter in Football. If you think you know what a great team or player is, you will always be mistaken. There are no such things; there are only results. And sadly many players are overlooked because they don't win as many trophies as others. Fanatism is what blinds us most. Open your mind when you're watching a football game, and see how things will never happen as you expected them to. Don't try to explain what can't be explained but observe and accept. If ever you get to see Totti play a good game appreciate it, because he isn't a lower category player and will never be considered as such for many years to come.
