Liverpool formation help

Hello.

Love the game. Having a bit of trouble finding a Liverpool formation that 'clicks' for me. Been messing about with 3-5-2 and edits thereof but as I said I'm not performing as well as I should with the team, due in part to the tactics I think. I have signed Riera and usually play him.

Any help?

When I'm using Liverpool I always go for:

--Arbeloa--Carragher--Skrtel--Dossena--
----------Alonso-------Mascherano----
-----------------Gerrard---------------
--Kuyt------------------------Keane---
-----------------Torres----------------

Works like a charm for me, course Babel can easy come on to replace one of the wingers

In my brief game on the CL mode - Riera did finish as the tournament's top scorer - he's an excellent player. That said, with the formation you've given, I'd be tempted to use Kuyt and Babel.

Can't argue with that form! Well if it was a master league I'd probably go with Babel& Riera as they're the youngest, but for the CL I'd probably go for Kuyt & Riera(going by what you said)

Course you could always play Pennant!

CMF - Alonso
AMF - Gerrard
WR - Kuyt
WL - Keane

Its really that simple.

Line your 4 defenders up on the edge of the penalty area, DMF behind the centre circle and just to the left slightly. CMF on the centre line and just to the right slightly to cover Kuyt as he's not the fastest. AMF just before the SS would be place and to the left slightly to help out Keano. WL not directly in line with Torres, just below him and on the byline. WR to the right of Alonso and CF Edge of the penalty area.

So it sounds a bit fucked, if I can draw a picture I would. lol...

Out of curiosity, does anyone else regularly play a 3-back formation? I play a 3-5-2 myself and I've gotten quite comfortable with it. 3 CBs, 1 DMF, 2 SMFs, 2 AMFs, 2 CFs. A little crazy, but it means a lot of support on offense. I will say it often leaves me a little light on defense and I rely on a fast DMF to track back quickly. But seeing how few teams in the game default to a 3-back formation, I'm wondering if I'm an oddball in the PES world.

I can't stand it if I'm honest. I only use Liverpool, but if you was coming from a Barca, Inter or Chelsea players point of view yes. Because their attack is their defence. However, whether you have a fast DMF or not, if you play against someone who knows what their doing, they will rape your ass. and pull you apart. lol...

That is what we play alot in real life also, works great, i would use babel on the left and kuyt on the right though and then benayoun or riera to give one a rest, and keane to give "frernandos" a rest

ill give you the benefit of the doubt in hoping that you missed out the most influential player of my team out by accident.

I don't have the option file, and I really can't be bothered to install it at the moment.

Anyway, Finnan was god damn solid, WTF was Rafa thinking?!?!?! Arbeloa is a lightweight...

Man, same with sissoko, he was our answer to essien :( ok we do have 4 cm right now, 5 including plessis from the reservesl, but still!!!
