I don't know if it's just me but it seems a little easy at times to score long distance goals.

I'm playing a Champs Lg with Inter on Professional difficulty and I've scored about 5 long distance screamers in 7 games. To be fair, 4 of them have been with Eto so maybe it's just because he has a good shot on him? I certainly can't hit the target as easily with Stankovic. I am worried that it might be a bit of a flaw in the game though. If I start scoring them all the time it'll take the magic away :(

I'm hoping when I up the difficulty to Top Player the defence won't give players like Eto as much space so it'll be harder to score screamers all the time.

Has anyone else found they're scoring more long distance goals in PES 2010 compared to 2009?

I agree .. I played CL Top Level and i've scored a couple of long distance shots with Ibrahimovic .. i think it's all about space and the player's gesture control when shooting from far .. still .. easier than 2009 ..

Long rangers and headers do seem easier to score. But in and around the box the defence keep it tight.

Yeah, and in PES 2009 if you really wanted, 9/10 of your goals would come from 4 yards out after dribbling rings around the defence until you got your player(s) into the same old sweet-spots time and time again.

What is more preferable? A big pile of goals coming from screamers where you just have to get your man into the opening and let rip and then hope, or from goals where you laboriously run your men into the same spots inside the penalty box, over and over again, and never shooting until you know it is going to be a certain goal? (the latter example is how every 'good' competition calibre player on PES 2009 played the game).

That's what I'm hoping. I'm playing as Inter cos I want to win the Champs Lg before I start my Masters League campaign. I'm hoping when I start ML with the default players it'll be a lot harder to score long distance screamers.

With default player is a lot harder to score form far distance but still posible, Im playing on top star dificult and I just can say it makes more realistic the game :)

get an editor, globally edit keeper response down by 5-12 and GK skill up by the same amount, then you have GK's that are considerably better on long range efforts but weaker 1 on 1.

This may be the thing to do. Seems like we score many goals from long shots this year and few from 1-1 situations.

I can't score long range goals for toffee.
I keep hitting the bar or post, or the keeper just tips it over, even in training I can't score!

Perhaps you are all decent players? I love scoring belters from long range. Unfortunately my most spectacular ones hit the corner of the bar/post. I am always searching for perfection.
I wouldn't have thought they would have altered the way you shoot.
But the keepers are still duff?

or some reason i cant score long range goals, my longest is 21m now that really is pathetic. but in my defense i have only payed 5 game with arsenal and there not exactly know for long range shooting. any tips???

Its pretty much trial and error. Try and use your players that have good shooting abilty. I think Van Persie and Fabregas should be good. Just shoot with different strength in shots. You'll soon get an idea of the range.
How you line your players is important. You need to have space from the opponents as they can put you off your stride. When you get good you can try shooting from outside the foot. They can be impressive.

etoo has 91 shot power, thats why its so easy with him.. stankovic only has high 80 shot power and lower shot acc and tech compared to etoo. thats why etoo is so good at scoring long range goals in PES 2010. if you look at most of the other strikers, they have high shot acc and techs only but a lower shot power, such is the case of totti, van nistelrooy, adebayor, arshavin, etc... higher shot power = easier long range shots

Ive always said this and it happans with rooney i scored a goal in the 1st miniute of a game with rooney just ran and then shot and it went over the keepers head. but then i thought this team has just been promoted and went on to win 5-0.

then played chelsea and scored outside the box with rooney but i think they have a shit keeper in goal as they sold cech so maybe its how good the player is or how crap the keeper is, but it does seem a lot of long rangers.
