Losing Streaks

I recently got to 700 points online and 21 games unbeaten.

It ended with me losing 4-3 to a 450 points PSG. The AI gave him a penalty, I missed a penalty, I scored an own goal, Landreau & Hoarau were having the games of their lives and I missed an open goal with Di Natale. I gave him a rematch afterwards with him PSG again and me Nice and I beat him 3-0. Take note that Nice are nowhere near as good as Udinese.

Both games were played with players at normal conditions as I do all my games.

Since that loss I have only won 2 games out of my last 15. Never playing anyone above 600 points meaning im losing over 10 points at a time!!

My question is why do I constantly get cheated after I play a few good games?
Is it punishment for beating Barca, Man U with shitty small teams? Do Konami just not like it when their seemingly unbeatable teams get beaten?

It is my only explaination!! Does anyone else get cheated after they have a good run?

If it's online, and you both have the scripting then there's no cheating involved, unless somehow the cpu knows you are doing well and scripts against your favour. If that's what you're suggesting, I, for one, don't buy it.

I don't buy what others say about cheating, scripting, etc, either, though... I guess what I'm saying is that I like this aspect of PES 09. I can't remember a version in the past where I always felt like the opposition might pull off a late goal when I'm ahead. Is that really cheating, or is it like the real game? It's hard to hold onto a 1 goal lead with 20 minute left in real life too.

^ When you're Manchester United and Stoke pins you down 0-2 in the first ten minutes, you pretty much feel like the game has cheated.

*On BAL of course, where the mindless defenders aren't controlled by the player.

In reality matches it happens but not like in pes 2009.
If you play 1 vs 1 with human this is the most visible.
The game just decides where the win would go and no matter how good you play, The AI controlled defenders will screw everything and start loosing position and your players will start to pass badly while the opponent's player will run faster.
These things happen a bit in reality but in the game, it's frustrating because luck makes you win.
This has been the case since Pes 6.

i have to say i do not agree agree with you, if one thing i feel about this game is that matche are not premeditaded like in previous versions of pes e.g. PES5, in this game one error in your defence can cost you the game, however i do feel the players who play with teams like manchester united or barcelona do have the advantage over you because of theyre players.

last time i had my opponent with rooney on the ball and there was no way i could get him to stop, so i pressed square and the AI slide tackled him the referee called a penalty which wasnt cuz it was clearly outside the box. they scored and scores were tied 1-1. then a long ball to rooney again. could not stop him and went down 2-1 at this point i felt "man this is BULLSHIT!". but made a few changes here and there a few substitutions and came back to tie the game at the end i won 2 to 4. and let me tell you it felt so satisfying at the end. it was one of the best games ive played online

this game is not premeditaded not online at least the disadvantages are the same for both, its the same AI same game, only difference may be the super powerful teams your opponents are choosing. just keep your head up. check your formations, make strategies, play the most you can in manual mode or at least semi assisted, man mark players if you need to but im telling you at the end its very rewarding.

I play this game alot and I like it. Though I stil have to say that it's scripted sometimes. I play alot of 1vs1 with friends. Winning is based a bit on skill but mostly luck.
How can you explain that my AI controlled defenders loose position (I don't press square button) and his will always defend well for example?
This is a prediction that you will loose no matter what you do.
Maybe it happens most in 1vs 1 not online. I don't play online because I have the us version.

I press the square button ocassionally but i do not keep it press, and then my player goes and marks the opponent, so what i do is cover his position usually with an attacker or an AMF or i go mark the player waiting or running to receive the pass.

also is it me or does the game plays faster when you choose afternoon and choose a big stadium like stade de france, wembley or olimpico? ive noticed this because ive played in the konami stadium at day and night option and it feels very slow and sluggish.

The game cheats. Not as much as last year, but it does. The best example is when a CPU controlled centre half on your team wipes out an advancing forward, almost always resulting in a red card and a penalty. This is actually one of my main reasons for prefering FIFA this year, for the first time in about a decade.
