Making money out of players MLO

I know this is a silly question but how do you make the most money out of existing players in your team? i just make them free agents and earn some money...is there a better way to make more money out of them?

example if a player x costed me 4 million euros and 80k wages and if I don't think that he suits my team style...how do i make the most money out of him?

You have to play him until his contract runs out so that you aren't throwing money away. As for making money, you would have to wait a long time for his value to go up. The more people buy him the more his value increases, but if he's not the right player for you, just cut your losses, but only after you have used up his contract, unless you just want to take the loss and get rid of him.

Or am I misunderstanding the question?

well if his contract lasts for 8 more games but i think that he isn't needed anymore and i am getting 700k for him if i sell him right away......
will i get earn more if i sell him when his contract runs out?like will i earn 900 k when his contracts runs out ?
or that solely depends on his valuation change?

You won't get more, it's just a waste of money to sell him without running his contract out. His 8 games are worth something, depending on how much he is worth. Perhaps one million of more. If you don't play him, it's like throwing that money out the window. What you get for him when you sell him is not going to change much, but the only bad move you can make is to not run out his contract. If you don't, then you have to pay another player to play those games. There's no getting away from it.

Make sense?

Perhaps what you're missing is the fact that when you buy a player for, say, 5,000,000 you are paying his transfer fee plus his contract for ten games. So, his real value (when you sell him) is just the transfer fee, so something like 4,000,000 if his contract costed 1,000,000. You get the 4 million back when you sell him, but you never get the contract back. You only get value for it by playing him in matches, and like I said, that's real value because no matter what you do you have to pay SOMEONE to play those matches.

One alternative would be to buy a really cheap player who you prefer and play them instead, but they would need to be a lot cheaper, and this would only maybe cut your losses slightly, but still it would be a loss.

They key then, as you can see, is to be very careful with who you purchase!

Ok what happens when a players contract runs out? say before he plays a match he has 1 match remaining....what happens if you play him for 90 minutes? does he just leave like a free agent? or is his transfer fee paid up to your team?

He will sit in your squad but you won't be able to select him for a match. He will stay until you decide to release him, at which time you will then get the transfer fee at that time so you may make a profit there.

It should also be noted in your scenario that you should pay attention to substituting too- eg: if your player has 1 match and 60 mins left on his contract then substitute him in a match just before the 60mins mark comes, that way you'll get the most amount of playing time out of him.

So are you saying that if I let a players contract run out and then sell him I earn a transfer fee ?(more than his base value?)

So are you saying that if I let a players contract run out and then sell him I earn a transfer fee ?(more than his base value?)

You can/will earn that transfer fee back at any time when you sell a player. Look at your squad list and toggle the bumper to see the transfer fee of all your players, then check the player in question. That's how much you will get for him when you sell him (if you sell him right now). Let's say his transfer fee is 2 million. That means you probably paid 2.7 million or so to buy him in the first place, so you paid his transfer fee at the time and also his contract for ten games. If he has 3 games left, you get 2 million, but lose the ability to play those three games with him. If you wait to sell him til his contract duration reads zero, then you still get 2 million, but at least you got your money's worth out of him.

Now, while you are in this screen, press the through pass button on the player and it will show you a graph. Not sure if you have seen this, but it will show you his current value and how his value (transfer fee, not contract money) has fluctuated over time. So, the only way to really make money (not just get back what you invested) is to wait a long, long, long time for the player's value to raise up to higher than what you paid. You can look in your history of transactions to see what you initially paid, but you have to subtract the contract fees from that as well. Regardless, looking at things this way is good, but more often than not it's not going to be a good way to focus your efforts. Most players increase in value over time, some more than others, but the only really good investments are if you buy a very popular player, or if you get in on a player and buy him when the game first comes out and while his price is still at the base price or close to it. It sounds though like you're not in that sort of situation, which is why my only advice is to sell him but only after his contract is used up.

Im struggling abit this year... I've played the last two MLO's but I arrived late to this one after trying FIFA (Don't, it's far too easy and terrible online)

So I'm trying to be as efficient as possible, only selling players when there contract runs out, buying a slightly better player when the contract is up and repeat etc. This has been my successful strategy for the last 2 years.

This year I seem to be low on money though. Even though I have the setting turned on to face people of similar rating and strength, most opponents have cristiano ronaldo, hulk, eto, ramos, etc and i struggle to get results against them. I'm beating the teams around me with similar ratings and strength.. but just aren't making much money, barely enough to cover the players I have. Is there any new tricks that I'm missing this time round?

Not really. I don't have a super team at all, and I too struggle against them, but what do you expect when they have ten times as much cash as I do?

Some things you should know though are that apparently coach mode is easier to exploit this year because if your team is better on paper you get a lot of wins (moreso than in 2012) so a lot of the teams you face that are stacked (almost all of them in fact) seem to be people who built their team in coach mode, not by actually playing the game. You can tell because they have a ridiculous number of games completed, and they also generally aren't very good at playing the game. Still, they often beat me, but it's also possible to beat them, which will mean lots of cash for the victory.

Also, it seems to me like there are more bargains this year in certain positions, so my strategy for building my team so far has been to concentrate my funds on the areas where funds are most needed. In midfield, for example, I have some players who I consider pretty damn good for their 1-2 million dollar price tags, so I'm not going to rebuild my midfield until I'm more powerful up front and in defence.
