Management Edit and Team Strategy

I'm confused as to what takes precedence in-game. If I play with assisted setting off, yet have my Management Edits setup for strategies based on time periods, do they still work?

Furthermore, if I change my strategy in-game by manually making the selection (back button + A, B, X or Y), does this override the strategies that have been automatically setup in the Management Edit?

First question: Yes.

Second question: No. All the strategies you have enabled at any given time will be in effect so it's up to you to make sure incompatible strategies aren't mashed together. Personally I disable all the automatic strategies and prefer to set them manually as the game flows.
