Master League: Transfer System Suggestions

One thing that I think would improve Master League is too add more detail to the Transfer system. Too many times I have been dumbfounded as to why my transfer offers have failed.

I understand that there is an internal logic to this, but i think it should be more transparent, with the player or the club you have put offers to giving you some feedback as to why the offer is not sufficient. Examples of this could be "There is too much competition within your squad in my position", or "The club would prefer a straight cash deal rather than a part exchange" or "The player would prefer a shorter contract", etc., etc.

Understanding what some of these kinds of deciding factors for players and clubs are (at least within the game), would make participating in the transfer market a lot more rewarding, as it would allow users to successfully craft moves by making strategic decisions about their own squad (e.g. trimming the number of players in a given area to reduce competition for places), or their offers. As it is now, unless they spend some time reading posts in forums like this one (which are often simply people's opinions rather than fact), many players may have no idea why their negotiations have failed.

I also think that the Player Affection system seemed like a good idea, but has not really (from what i have witnessed anyway) been properly implemented. There seems to be very little variation in the Affection ratings for most players, and I have not yet witnessed a case where a player with a lower affection rating was any easier to purchase than those with higher ratings. I believe that if this concept was implemented with real commitment (including being able to search for players with a low affection rating to assist with Scouting) it could be a great addition to the game.

Finally, i would like to see players within your own squad express their own Affection (or lack thereof) rating to you as Manager, such as pushing for more playing time or asking to be transfer-listed.

Oh, and absolutely agree with everyone who has mentioned that as Manager you should be offered contracts with other clubs - this would mean the playing life a single Master League campaign could conceivably be endless. As it currently stands, after 2 or 3 seasons (even on the hardest settings) my team usually becomes unbeatable and the game can become boring. It would be great to be able to start a new challenge with another team without necessarily having to start from the lower leagues again.

Thanks for reading, I know it was a long one. :)

Cheers,
ChrisA.

1. How long have you been playing PES?
Since ISS on the PS1.

2. What are the aspects that you like most about PES?

Its realism in general, the scope it gives players for creative play and the exhaustive editing options.

3. What are the aspects that you don’t like about PES?

Removal of the slider for shooting power, quality and variation of commentary is well behind FIFA and general lack of licensing (although i understand why).
