Who else has taken on a ML adventure with one of the smaller clubs. I'm about 2 and a half seasons into a ML with Wigan and even though doing quite well and got top level scout in finding it hard to get anyone i've ever heard of even if they're clubs ranking is lower than mine by a bit
Season 1 - finished 4th place thanks to a last game of the season 93rd minute diving header from Neymar against Man Utd that dropped them down to 5th...slightly pleased with this moment
Season 2 - Won the English Cup and Champions League finishing 3rd in the League
Season 3 - just into december and am top of the league by a point, still in champs league and cup and just won Konami Cup against Boca(wish it would be internacional or river for a change,,,,,does this ever happen??)
The Team
GK:Tomi Maanoja (big finnish youngster, great keeper and cheap)
GK:Stojkovich
SB:Cuadrado (simply put a great solid full back that can get forward and put crosses in, buy him if you get the chance)
SB:Figueroacame with the job, great full back)
SB:S.Eriksson (agreed to sign in transfer window,,,seems like decent cover for left back who can also play central mid or left wing
CB:Walid Atta (solid centre back who can cover right back, not spectacularly good but decent)
CB:Henrique(1st season bordeaux transfer list him, becomes my captain and would never drop him)
CB:N.Dorin Goian (tall......strong....he's ok)
CB:Abidal(just got him in this season.....obvious why he was transfer listed....sooooo slooooow, do not buy him)
DMF:Ricardo Faty(got him on a free, took a while to warm to him but basically a tall solid dmf who's improving a lot, worth getting if you can on a free)
CMF:Gibson(again a freebie,,,,he's quite decent
CMF:Milner(for some reason he was keen to join me and stranger that villa only wanted 6m for him,happy to pay it he's been exceptional since joining in the summer)
CMF:J Holt(on the books at Wigan, progresses very nicely worth keeping hold of)
DMF:Hendry Thomas (doesnt get many games now but was excellent my first 2 seasons)
SMF/AMF
Abdi (very good tricky player who can pick a pass)
N'Zogbia (best player on my team,,,,would never sell him)
El Zhar(tricky quick player,,not always on form but he was free and definitely worth a place in the squad)
Lamah (can play either wing but very left footed, quick and nimble though and for the price well worth it, good winger if you're on a budget)
Moses(brilliant, brilliant, brilliant, can play either wing, amf or any forward position)
Forwards
Rodallega (main reason i picked Wigan as a team to play as,,,,scores most of my goals and just won the footballer of the year award in the 3rd season, happy days)
Milevsky (freebie,,,like a poor mans Ibrahimovic,,,,but still a very useful one)
Neymar (stupidly quick and tricky player,,he's free at start of the game so buy him)
Morimoto (again a freebie like most of my signings, fast Japanese striker, only had him this season but he seems ok and has scored when he plays)
If anyone can recomend a good right back who could join the Wigan revolution and any centre backs that would be worthy of playing alongside Henrique at the back would be very welcome as would any stories of other peoples experiences playing with a smaller ML team.....errrrrrrrrrrrrrr....happy gaming and im outtta herre
