max drive or x-port

Are max drives/x-ports just for option files or can yo stick patches on them too.

X-Ports and Max Drives are for all memory card files for all PS2 games.
They are data transfer devices.

Patches are burnt onto disks so they won't work on them.

Cheers. Do you just download files to the device then upload them to the memory card?

just wondering would a flash card reader for a pc work at all, becasue of got one for the digital cam which works of USB, not sure if the PS2 will understand it though

also what about an Ipod ? it can be used as a external hard disk so I can transfer the files onto it and theres the firewire cable that I can use that will fit into the front of the PS2 ? is there any software for the ipod that will get it so you can transfer files on the the PS2 emmory cards ?

I'd still like to hear some more Max Drive feedback.

Worth ditching the X-Port for? Taking into account that my PS2 and PC are in completely different rooms of the house. Almost different time zones.

I got a max drive today and it wiped my memory card when I tried to put the pesfan option file onto it!

Memory card now reading blank but when I put the file back on again the ps2 browser still says there is 'no data'.

Might have to reformat my mcard. Any ideas how to do this?

Hmm I didn't have any of these problems with my Max Drive. Maybe I'm one of the lucky ones.....<touch wood>
