I believe this year, what matters post is who you play against. If you play against a guy with a higher rating, and an even higher team strength than yours, you would get a lot of money even for a draw. So people don't lose hope
I played against a guy who had all the Juventus team, like every single player and somehow I've won 2-0 with my (yet) shitty MLO team. I got 2 million. Again, I drew with another guy with a superstar team, got 1.5 million.
I've also won 8-0 against a guy with a team as strong as mine, i got about 800k.
I'd like to point out that I like this new system. Last year, you'd only get richer if you participated in competitions; that was a must. Because last year, player contracts would cost more, and match revenues would be less (even with that facebook crap!). This year, it's the other way around. You get more money and spend less on contracts, plus there's the form advantage. Last year, because of the previous Form Changing system, players who only played occasionally were put in a difficult position. They would not play for days, and then when they got back online, most of their players would be in poor form, and they were forced to sell them in order to buy new players in good form, to take on opponents. Obviously most of those players were still under contract and users would lose a fair amount of funds. It's way better this year. And it'll be even better when my team strengthens up, because I know there is a slight chance that assholes playing with Messi and Ronaldo may not have them in good form all the time. Random forms ftw.
And back to the funds system this year, there's also this pyramid thing this year that's very good. At the end of the week you'd get your share for playing so actively during the week.
