MLO tips

Now I am no where near as far on as some of the people who have the beast players already in their ranks, and the full squads of superstars. But I have just started to improve dramatically in my fortunes. So here's a few things to do if your struggling in the MLO and more importantly, struggling financially in MLO.

Before you start:

Go to facebook and download the MyPES app ( www.facebook.com/mypes ) then register and link it to your PES2012 in game, this is vital, it gives you an extra 300k every single game, doing this means that even if you are losing you can atleast afford to keep your team afloat with your current players (poor guys ive been playing occasionally who start with 8 men bcos its all they have)

Contracts and transfers:

With the change on online this year, its best to wait to make transfers, play a few games with your default squad until you get told that 'so and so is up for a contract renewal', 2 games later and they will be unable to play for you; when this happens, sell them, and then buy a slightly better player for your team. I would do this for nearly every player except Ettori and mr super centre back, but for all others I would swap. Buy someone who is say 69/70 skill, then do this for the next person that runs out of contract, then the next etc, So you end up with a squad of 69/70's then it starts again slowly improving your squad with each time. When you find a player you really like and think will stay in your team for a while then sign them up on a 50 week contract.

Gamestyle:

Play how you want to play, but learn how to defend, defending properly and tracking back is key to success.
Don't always sprint, don't let your players lose position too much.
Play to your team strengths and buy to suit your team.

I personally play a fluid passing game making triangles and keeping possession. Most people seem to just try and get speed merchants and run past lesser players, I don't really like this as its not real football... but each to their own.

As I said, this won't help anyone but the newcomer really, most are further on than me in the OML anyway. But if your a newbie then maybe it might help you progress.

thanks, i hope this will improve my game coz i am really struggling.

No probs mate.

The MyPES extra 300k a game really helped boost my team up.

Further tips.

Sign inform players if you can on the start of your pro evo sesh, Don't sign players once your about to log off, unless you know you aren't playing for 2-3 days and then sign a down grey arrow and you will likely get a better price for a player who will be ready and be coming into form for the next time you play.

Gameplay:

Pass, pass and keep passing. I am winning nearly all my matches now, even against super star teams, just by passing loads and defending properly - use r2 correctly when coming into possession of the ball.

Defending, don't get distracted by the man with the ball too much, cover back and get well behind the ball, leaving your second defender (square) to guard the man in possession. Stay behind the ball.

haha Mark, that's exactly how I play defense. Also I pass a lot too, using R2 wisely - I get so many freekicks just by using that button wisely. You in the Europe area? I'd love to play against you.

Haha yeah I'm from the U.K. Send me a friend invite and we will have a game; Send me a PM on PSN aswell if you do though bcos I get loads of F requests, I'll have to delete you after i'm afraid, I play Call of Duty competatively and need the free slots.

Can't get into the competitions? Is that pes 2011 or 2012 mate? If its 2012 then the only reason you can't get into competitions is because you have lost connection more than 30% of your matches.

I would probs start again if your heavily in debt and have sold players etc.

Then sign up for Mypes app on facebook (even if it means making a dummy faceyB account) this gives you 300k extra meaning even if you lose your match your still making profit.

Once you have done this with your new team just play with your original team until it says 'ruskin is out of contract' or whoever it may be, not the first warning but the second warning. Then sell that player, go to the transfer list and buy someone for 1.5 million making sure that the player is red in form, keep doing this while all players in the squad, it takes a while but its worth it, you do need to be patient, playing about 20 games or so to have fully changed your squad. Playing in comps makes this, so don't quit any matches, your basically throwing money away if you do, also when you stop playing the game, go to the pes main menu 1st, i've noticed if you quit from the OML menu it sometimes classes as you quitting a game aswell.

Once you have done that with your team, you will have a squad of better players, they will eventually run out of contract and do the same for them but this time getting a team of players worth 2.5 million, even if you lose every single match, doing this an having the MyPES bonus, you will be able to keep updating your squad. If you win a match, the next time you buy a person you can add an extra 500k to and get a slightly better player. Buy wisely. You can often get much better players for less by going down the list.

coach mode doesn't give the 300k mypes bonus. Only you playing the matches gets you the bonus.

A few more tips when starting out:

sign a good free kick taker. If you know how to take them, you'll have a good scoring opportunity like 1-2 times a game simply because of the high amount of fouls in this year's version.

Buy a target man for your corners. 1.95+ meters with a good heading stat. For those poor bastards out there like me, try Dost. He's a striker. If you have a bit more money, I'd consider Janko who's also huge and has a great heading stat and decent shooting/attack/balance.

Once you have signed up to myPES on Facebook and linked the myPES account to your PES profile online you should receive the 300k bonus after each non-coach mode game (providing it has access to upload the game result to Facebook).

You can link the accounts at any time during your MLO experience, so you will not have to start again.

Thanks Fry! So relieved I don't have to start again! Is it simple to set up MyPes?

Yep, just add the app via Facebook, create a username and password, and then link it in to your PES account via the "Personal Data Manager" on the Master League Online mode.

You really need to play to what suits your style and how you play. I play by been patient and don't always sprint, passing between my midfield, it draws the defence out and then I just play a nice pass through the hole and slide it past the keeper. I play a 4 1 3 2 formation and sometimes swap my RM for a RWF - This really stretches some teams.

I make triangles of players to pass between like real football and play one-two's. But you should play whatever is best for you and to your opponents weaknesses, if they have wingers playing high up the field and then most men playing centrally - Expolit those wings!!

And to defend especially against speed merchant abusers I just choose my defender and run towards goal before the ball is even near the attacker, all the time while putting pressure on (square for me, PS3) same if they are exploiting the wings and been the 'Icanonlyscorebycrossingplayer' I just run my CB into the middle of the box and pressure the winger who is about to cross, even if they do get the cross in my CB passes/heads it out.

I'm so gutted. Did all the MyPES crap and started playing MLO started struggling because I made the fatal error of selling off all default players. Started again and have built up a solid team, but now starting to struggle with subs rapidly being sold off to fund new better players. Only left with about 6 subs now... That's when I read this and realised I wouldn't get any extra money from mypes unless I chose the last option to upload!!! Feel like restarting now... But I'll hang in there and see if I can turn the tide...
