In the old days we all played pes becuase it simulated football. Passing and shooting had much more depth and the analogue manual passing could certainly compete with fifa's excellent manual system. next gen pes feels so robotic and simplistic, there is very little gameplay depth compared to older versions of the game it seems to be aimed at a new audience. Before i start with my suggestions i want to make clear this is purely my efforts to make the game great again as i have no idea how to programme a football game to be more organic. I am not simply bashing the game for no reason.
Passing needs to be improved, this will make it more difficult and potentialy put off some consumers but the gameplay would be so much more rewarding. There is a reason why so many people complain about the gaming feeling stale and robotic, passing is part of this. Even the current manual passing on pes still feels automatic and takes no thought or skill.
Ball physics coupled with a better passing system would improve the dynamics of the game. Angle of the player, body position, stance and stats and the power you put on the pass should dictate where the ball goes, this is incredibally watered down in pes10 and is one of the reasons i enjoy the ps2 version of the game much more than the next gen version.
The same laws should apply to shooting which again for some reason feels very automated although there are certainly improvements.
Konami simply need to focus on the gameplay. Look at how many excellent game modes pes 10 has but that doesn't matter if the gameplay doesn't stand up. I am not saying the game is unplayable the current version of pes is just so different to what made us love pes in the first place. If the ball becomes a seperate entity, passing is worked on and animations and an improved physics systems are put in place this game will be back, sadly i think konami are more concerned with gimmicks, i truly hope im wrong.
