Mphela + Barreto

Anyone else fed up of playing against them? Finally decide to look them up and to my surprise they are only rated 67 and 69 respectively. They cost about 1,500 million so people buy them cause there cheap and abuse there speed merchant card.

I don't look at it that way. Konami obviously put them in because now you don't have to have 50 million to have a player who can dribble similar to Ronaldo and Messi. Is it worse that now almost anyone can have that in their team or does it even the playing field? Plus, nullifying these players is extremely easy once you learn how to defend. The much bigger problem with the game is the crosses. That's more like cheating in my opinion than it is to use players who are great value for their cost. Also understand that in my opinion it's silly not to buy these players. Their value is only going to rise, so I have Barreto and use him as a sub, but eventually will sell him once his price tops. It's not much but I've already more than doubled the money I invested in him, so yeah, if you play someone that has them it might just be beceause they bought him to eventually sell him.

with regards to baretto, he actually goes up to 80 is you play him as a wide midfield player so he is worth buying, the biggest issue for me is the twats that buy eto or villa and just try and sprint dribble the whole way to goal. its funny tho cos the sprint junkies cant do anything once you start passing the ball about and you can generally beat them if you play 5 at the back, just pass the ball more.

Yeah I don't mind at all, they even the playing field and I used them both along with Petorbanov when I was starting out. Just learn how to defend against them, keep your men behind the ball. The big problem I have this year is players able to dribble around your goal keeper 9/10 times that they try with a decent dribbler. As for speed merchant abusers just pass, passing is key in Pes2012, I won't my 1st competition today by passing :) only division 3 competition but still well chuffed.

you forgot someone! Piatti, the cheap version of messi. i love these guys.

come on, i was checking the team assets rankings, and i saw that some players played over 800 matches! i can't do that i have other things to do. so i can't affort an all stars team with 90+ rating. so i will stick to those cheap players.

Yeah I haven't had Piatti yet but he's really good when he plays against me. How much is he? Canales is very good aswell for a cheaper amount than Messi.

I also wanted to buy them, but they dont fit in my team, because when you play a balanced game, you also need players with good tec., not just these "runners".
But it's still al about the money, tats why that many people out there got them.

I play balanced and play a very fluid passing game, but I still was able to incorperate Them into my team, Mphela upfront and Barreto on the left midfield. I only had Mphela in for 10 games though.

Dotan is another one. I just find it annoying because if people do get past my defence they run or pass there way round my keeper.

I kind of disagree with everyone.
Most people seem to miss the real point of master league. Its to build your dream team and I sure as hell now that dream can not be just an all star team.

Its with players like these that u will get real satisfaction. For me, its henry, del piero, lucio, buffon, pires, vieira, tott, lennon. (I know some of them are not in PES 2012 but are in 2011). They are less than ideal for getting victory, u can buy more effective one with their price tags, but sorry, victory is not everything.

Buy players that u like and not those who will get u victories. That way u will get better satisfaction.

I totally agree. I used to buy players depending on their averall rating. But i really enjoy some players with lower abilities.

I will stick to my humble team and enjoy it. I don't care if i loose but at least i don't go down with a fight.

while i hate the fact that players with mphela, barreto, piatti, eto'o, krasic, pato are all gonna a)try to round your keeper, or b)run to the byline to cross it in 99% of the time, I hate konami even more, for making speed merchants, messi is the only player that deserves it.

You should hate Konami for making shots so effed up; if they were anywhere near reality, you'd be able to score a 1x1 with the keeper way much easier than having to actually dribble the keeper. Getting past the goalie seems like the only option most of the time, if you want assurances of a goal. Let's face it, real life, one on ones with the keepers are goals 85% of the time. In PES? Maybe 25%. Btw I hate cross ins as well...

I score 70% of 1on1's with the keeper, its how I score most of my goals. I'm confused to why you guys are all struggling.

a lot of players and teams in the real world can abuse players- when barca are in trouble, they give it to messi to create something or rely on crossing the ball in which in all honesty is what teams do when they are going to lose.
Piatti and rosnin are great too. I also hate speed merchant abusers because they only rely on dribbling but players like ronaldo and messi have other talents like great crosses and passing instead of dribbling so people are not making use of player's other talents

if you are still truggling when 1 on 1 try F.Inzaghi, he does not miss when he is 1 on 1. he is cheap with header accuracy 90+ and shot accuracy 85+. he may be a little slow but he knows where to be when attacking (fox in the box card). i love the guy. he scored for me more than Torres.
