It seems this games winning formula for scoring goals has changed. It used to be if ur running up the the goal in a straight line with a technically good finisher then ur player would automatically find a corner and place it. However on pes 2008 i just cant stop hitting it straight at the keeper, this is particularly online (probably cos players tend to bring the keeper out). What tips do you guys have for actually scoring? The amount of games where i have 60% possession and 10 shots on target compared to my opponents 40% with 2 on target and end up losing 1 -0 is scary. Any help would be much appreciated,

Well i dont really find the finishing easy thats why i posted it. Like i say even with top finishers they just always smack it at the keeper. Can anyone give me any helpful advice?

Well say you are running up on the left wing and you want to finish it bottom corner far post you would push down and right,if you want to finish it in top far post you would push up and right.

I encounter that situation too.

So I normally lob the ball or dribble past the keeper before i shoot into open goal.

So far it works pretty well for me.

Scoring is relatively easy this time round. At times it even goes through the goalkeeper's legs. I suggest you use the diagonal directions on your controller.

With the controller placed like this:


Consider the case: you are moving from left to right... the goal is on the right

So for example say you are coming in from the top of the screen you can put it at the near post by holding: up+right on the D-pad and shoot
If you want it at the far post, hold down+right and shoot

When coming in from the bottom of the screen you could put it at the far post: hold up+right and shoot.
Near post coming in from the bottom: hold down+right and shoot (all these combinations help you get the angle)
You don't need to hold R2 for the finesse shot. I never use it.

I think you get the picture now.
I hardly use technical means such as feints or chips. In PES2008 its really easy. Placing your shots does the job.

I found it hard to finish at first on the 360 version as I was trying to place the ball in the bottom corners. Now when i am through on goal i just make sure i have plenty of power on the shot sometimes even full so it goes into the top of the net. Works 9 times outa 10 for me.

Here.. run straight towards keeper... keeper run towards you.. defenders pulling u.. just tab the ball to diagonally to left or right then shoots back imi.. always works.. if u shoot too slow defenders will catch you.. too fast and u hit the keeper.. just practice practice practice.. =D

I tend to pick a corner, and look at how much power i get in it, and then i sort of get used to how much power i need.
I'm Sure you will be fine
