My game keeps going to pause menu

Hoping someone can help- my game keeps automatically going to the pause menu without me pressing start at all and I don't know why.

I've tried a different controller and this still happens, it also seems to happen in a 2 player exhibition but not any of the 1 player modes. I'm a bit puzzled but it's very frustrating, can anyone help?

would I lose my save data if I do this, data packs etc?

Was hoping maybe other people had teh same problem but doesn't look like it!

is the battery of the second player controller low? they usuaally go into pause mode if the battery is crucially low

It is all the controllers I use, may keep an eye and see if it is battery on it though as hadn't thought of that one!
