Well I've been playing few games online(PS3) using Long ball camera with 1 level zoom out on Adjust screen option since I find wide camera unbearable and Pitchside and Broadcast camera not very practically viable for scoring goals.
I've played about 40 games online I think and this are my impressions based on the games I've played so far.
- I don't really know what Speed you guys are talking about in the other thread as I personally feel players move slower and less smoother than they did in Demo 2.in Demo 2 you could easily use the speed of the player to cut in/out after faking a kick or just use the pace of the players to go past opponent but in retail version thats difficult to pull off every other minute.
-I usually play with Real Madrid because thats the club I support and initially I played with possession style of play like I did for most of the teams in demo 2(which worked out very well) but not in this case.The opponents were dominating the possession in my own half somehow the they'd win back the ball irrationaly.(possession style of play works perfectly for me in offline single player mode at top player)
-I switched to standard style of play with attacking like to 11 or 12 instead of default 10.Much better I actually started to enjoy the speed of the built up and passing was smoother than before.
- I know that me playing on Ball camera will always be a disadvantage for players playing with default wide camera as they have a wider view of the pitch and hence their one side step while dribbling might be easier than the effort I have to make to go past a player.but sometimes it gets too difficult in middle of the park.Its like a war between CMS and DMs who constantly lose the ball cheaply and fail to gain control of the ball.I thought of it as realistic gameplay at first but it usually happens in middle of the pitch and it happens a lot.It is giving me a left sore thumb :|
-The tactical defending aspect is quite new and I am yet to master it but slowing down the speed of players and further taking off the uniqueness of players like Ronaldo,Messi(they can't take on 2 defenders everytime easily anymore) is bit difficult to geting used to and slows down the built up process even further.
-In all this matches I've played I haven't played a single player for any team or for mine who is dominating the match.no influential players not even Messi or Ronaldo.Thats bad actually speaking.
-I think technically this PES is lot lot different than any other PES as you need to really keep a cool head while defending.You might lose the ball while attacking but you can't afford to get frustrated and start to tackle around or apply pressure on attackers(Because of tactical defending doesn't work) but rather need to get back to thinking defence and regain possession so you can get back to rebuilding your attack from scratch.
-The chip shot doesn't have the Long arc not in actual online game.not that I have to mention that I am not running while trying to lob the ball over the keeper.
-In previous PES i used to find fast players with bigger build more impressive to take on opposition players but in this game the skinnier players are comparitively faster.example Kaka and Callejon have B for speed but Overall rating of Kaka is 91 whereas Callejon is 78 but I find Callejon a much better winger.:-s
-The cheap one touch passes continue to exist and people are exploiting them more than ever.Like there are three players A B C in a straight line and that B is facing C and A is facing B if C makes a pass to B . B can dramatically one touch pass it to A while B isn't even facing A! B does some crazy one footed turn to pass a slower but precise one touch pass to A.This condition now is true to one touch lob passes too.and to worsen the matter imagine if A is a striker who is doing a off the ball run towards goal.That would be a cheap goal to concede.
-I used to play PES10 and 11 for hours online and was in top 100 in world on xbl within a month of started playing both the games but I am really having mixed results for PES12 so far.sometimes I win in style or I struggle till the end with a draw or lose miserably(I have already).Also I can't play PES12 for hours I find I tire myself by the end of 3rd match in a row thats like 1 hours 15 minutes gone into the game
I really think I need to understand the game lot more and give it more time.
