My impression of pes 2010

I got the game yesterday and went straight to the chants editing. I uploaded an option file weeks ago, so my game was licensed from the get go! After I finished the chant editing I started a Master League with Manchester United (default players) on “regular”. In the first league game I thrashed Cheski 5-1 which was quite surprising to me-only if could be like this in real life. I thought maybe it’s only this one but eight games in the master league I realized that “regular” is too easy. It is then that I discovered that unlike in the previous versions of the pes series, you can change difficulty level at any time of the season which is kind of a negative for me.

At first the lightening literally had my eyes in tears. After playing around with color and brightness on both the game itself and the TV I managed to get the game to a level where my eyes could handle the lightning. I had this problem with Formula 1 on the ps 2 as well. My eyes at the end of the day couldn’t handle the lightning, despite the fact that some of the settings on the TV and game were changed. It didn’t help so I got rid of the Formula 1 game. A deep fear of the possibility that this could be the same fate with PES 2010 took hold of me. You could imagine the relief and joy when in the contrary to Formula 1 TV game, I found that my eyes got used to the lightning of the game. I think it still needs configuration as the graphics looks weird with the lightning effects.

Knowing what to expect since I had the chance to get familiarize myself with the game last weekend. I can only echo the complaints raised by other pes gamers; the delay in reaction of players to instructions,
The passes that goes to the wrong player,
And the ball that bounces off players once too many times,
Finally it looks like ping pong when opposition passes the ball around (almost too fast for the naked eye…lol) the game also has clumsiness to it.

P.S. I sold Pes 2009 this morning. So don’t worry, there is No way I am going to get rid of this baby, at least not before the next addition of the series reach our local shop shelves.

Why would changing difficulty part-way through a season be a negative? Believe me, there's nothing worse than starting a Master league on a difficulty setting that turns out to be too easy or difficult and then having to plough through a whole season before you can change it.

Believe me, I had experienced both! I know exactly how frustrating it can be. Still I would prefer to stick whit that difficulty level until the end of the season. I don’t see the use to be able to change it every other game as you wish? Konami could have spend they time and energy on something that effects the game play in most cases, such as bad refereeing, ball that bounces off players, players taking a second touch on every occasion, passes that goes to the wrong person, being able to start out in a second division (master league) and work your way up to the first division, need I to name more….

You still can stay with whatever difficulty you select until the end of the season. Self control! ;)

Anyhow, in terms of Konami spending resources, I'm sure this change wouldn't have taken much to do!

For me it's a plus and one of the best. It's precisely because of this that I couldn't be bothered finishing my last PES 2009 ML season. Stuck on too easy a level = boredom.

It's a single-player mode! If you lower the difficulty against tougher teams, you're not cheating anyone, except maybe yourself. On the other hand, if you start a season on Regular or Pro, then get better at the game and find you're winning games too easily, you have the option of making the game more challenging. I think that's a good thing.
