if i can download the max drive software n burn it onto disc will that make any usb drive work? or will i still need to buy a max drive?

heres my ps2 option file;

it includes premiership kits and emblems updated, these are the work of Rossyboy, I have just done more work on his OF.

I have updated all prem transfers and squad numbers that were wrong, updated all national team duplicated playes, corrected names of wales and northern ireland squad, added a few more youth players to prem teams (Leto, J.Evans etc)

I thought that it wasn't possible to update / replace emblems in the option file anymore? Or did I misread that?
