Right here goes. when PES 1st came out on PS3 I like a lot of people were excited. Disaster online (who can forget the 1st time the camera teleported), On moral grounds I ignored Konamis update last year. This year with renewed optimism and promises of a 'dedicated online team' and 'new servers' I stupidly purchased the game thinking it would be great online - again its awful, button delay is the main issue, even on a double green light game , it runs slow at worst the button delay is up to 3 seconds. Now before the 'its ur connection' mafia come on - a few points:
1. connection - all other games I play online are fine - i.e. NHL, resistance, battlefield.
2. Virgin - again I play all other games online ok so it cant be virgins fault.
3. Green lights - when you set up game both players are often green - the fact they become red on loading the game suggests to me the game/server cant cope with the volume of data.
4. Everyone - last night it took me 10 minutes to find a room where someone had a green light - why is it affecting so many people?
The simple truth is, its f**ked again. what p*sses me off the most is Konamis silence, lets hope this patch does something. I bought Virtua tennis in the summer - that had problems online to begin with but they fixed it - but u know what - they had a guy talking to people on the forums - he tooks some stick but he also had a lot of respect from a lot of people. When I played this game on the PS2 the 10 lobbies would all have around 100 people on them, sometimes you had to wait to get in! last night at peak time only one lobby had a 100 people in and 2 others had about 50-80 people in - what does that tell you Konami?
I prefer playing all games online, the buzz is much better than playing the AI. On previous versions (even the dreadful one 2 years ago) I was around 500 -550 in the ratings all the time, I am now down to an abysmal 430 because I cant compete against sh*te players who can barely string a pass together but think they are good and seem oblivious to the other players obvious problems. one guy only beat me 1nil last night and I couldnt even pass or tackle and at the end he said 'good game mate'!!!!
