My Review

Okay not really a review, just my opinion. I just got the game last Friday. Boy did I enjoy my first season as________________I guess you can figure that out yourself. . In the beginning I was nervous about not playing very well, but boy was I shockingly surprised when I won the first couple of games. I only lost two games and won the rest. But was I shocked when I got promoted! The results are now the reversed; I am loosing almost every game. On this rate I will be back next season to Division 2. I expected a battle in the upper league but didn’t expect this.

Did any body else experienced this? How can I get better? Any ideas please. I play on regular. Oh, I almost forgot couldn't manage to get any new players in even though the Master League level of "Transfers/Negotiations" is on easy. I hate that reports. I tried to up whatever the player wanted but with no success.

Tips will be appreciated.

well u'll need to give out a few more details .. is this ur first time playin pro ?? did u play fifa before ?? which team u using n its main players .. formations etc etc . negotiations will be difficult in d starting but once u get d hang of it n once ur team reaches a certain level its not that bad . in d begining try some good n cheap players like birsa rakitic instead of players like aguero benzema n other big players . u shouldn't be losing this much in regular .. try to play in leagues n cups for some time instead of master league to settle down on d game a bit . i didnt have such problems even in top player as i had played pro 5 and 8 before ..
also u could just turn off auto save and only save when u win . it'll help to keep u in d1 and this is also very important to use during negotiations as u can keep trying again

I also found in this year's game that the transition from D2 to D1 is more difficult than in previous versions. D1 is deifnitely harder, but I was happy with this because I was finding D2 too easy (on Top PLayer).

It sounds to me like you could use a few things:

A.) Sign some free agents, if there are any. I managed to pick up Darren Bent, Gakpe, and Jankovic in this way at the end of my first season, and they are still some of my best players. Sign new defenders too. I ended up getting Berger, Rubio, Bianchi and Adeleye.

B.) Sign some newcomers, espcially those who have decent stats already. This is easier and cheaper usually than signing players already with a club.

C.) If you want to "cheat" all you have to do is sign players on loan. I wouldn't personally recommend this, but from what I've heard it is very easy to sign even the best players on loan. Major flaw in this years game IMO.

PS - Send your starting 11, and what players you have so that we can help, eh.

Thanks guys for the tips and such. Well I play much better now. I am currently top of the league with a gap of 12 points between me and the closest rivals Liverpool and also in the quarter finals of the FA Cup.
I still have a problem signing new players and about 80 persent of my players are on BLUE. I think they all are fatigued thus I despirately needs new guys coming in. I really struggle with the negotiations which I changed from easy to normal. My popularity is now on "A" which I believe should coun't for something and makes negotiations easier but it does not seems to be the case.

Oh I almost forgot-I am a Manchester United die hard!

One other thing I picked up from my first season in Division 2 and it was confirmed in my current season in Division 1, you are garenteed a draw or loss when stats are overwhelming in favor of your team eccept for the score line.

I played in the FA Cup final Manchester United(me) vs Arsenal(pc;(I was tempted to restart the game but luckily I didn't)

Stats was as follows; I lost to Arsenal 1-0

Manchester United vs Arsenal
12 (3) Shots (on target) --------------------- 4(2) Shots (on target)

Possession
62% ------------------- 38%

It is written that you loose these games of which you have the better stats then your opposition. So during half time when I looked at the stats I knew I was not going to win the this game.

KONAMI, your Script suck!

Exactly!

Then when you have more possession and the ball insists in hitting the post (or going away even in a clear position), you have to "brake" the script. Give the ball possession to the COM for a while. Let it shoot a couple of times to your goal (I mean in a "safe" way, of course).

When the difference in ball possession is almost equal or the COM has more shots to your goal, I bet you will score.

It's a way to use the script in your favor...

so thats got to do with ball possession?
it seems easier to beat a top team in a league than one of the worst teams, so thats how you fix this, but letting comp play a bit?

I dont know if he was joking or serious, it just dont make sense.

No, I am not joking. At least not on PS2.

What I am saying is that if you are in those kind of games where you dominate completely the COM, have a huge ball possession but your balls miraculously don't go to the net (hit the post, etc) is because of the script. And the script was written to give the weaker team an advantage (a way to compensate the big differences and make the game more exciting).

So, if you give the COM "voluntarily" the ball possession and chances for shooting, you will "brake" the script (it won't "help" the COM, because the teams are "equal", if you know what I mean).

The script doesn't work only for the COM. It gives us some advantages too! How many games have you played that COM starts the game pressing and get lots of chances to score and when you finally get a chance to counter-attack, you score?

but you guys have to also keep in mind that keeping the game exciting to play is more important than good teams always beating bad teams . i mean " being fun to play " has always been something that keeps pes above fifa . most people playing pes play d master league and after a few seasons ur team will be ten times stronger than d strongest teams like barca manu , so u need some challenge . winning one game after another will leave u bored after a couple of seasons and u'll most probably stop playin ,
another example of scripting is the " catch up " feature in many racing games in which d cars behind get a boost . it is a much better gaming experience to drive bumper to bumper fighting for position than to gain lead in first corner and win by 30 seconds . similarly in pes .
on d other hand i would like some changes in d scripting used at present . it seems that all above agree that beating top teams is very easy and i agree . just beat barca 9-0 with 7-0 in first half . they had etoo bojan messi at their peaks but failed to score . such results r simply not possible in real life . i would prefer if the scripting did not change d scale of teams like if stoke city is difficult to beat then arsenal will be more difficult and barca even more .
finally all this scripting should only be used when playing vs comp and not when playing against other people (this i read some where in this forum and i agree )
