need help for free kicks

Hi,this is my first post!! I'm new to this forum but not to the pes/we series.I really enjoy this game, and I played it for tons of hours. So I'm asking you some tips to, at last, start scoring free kicks(3years of play and still trying).I saw awsome free kicks videos in the gallery section, and I think it's the better place to ask!
First of all I don't understand when you're about shoot your free kick, how to aim correctly?I mean you can move left or right but that's not giving me any indications of the ball's real direction.
Then, does pressing L1 or R2 really affects the way the ball will move.I know R1 has a real effect coz it's the only freekick I can target(the R.Carlos 30m shot with R1+up dpad, really cool to watch but always ending rejected by the keeper).
Finally is it the same if, when taking the free kick you fill the power jauge in one press or in to or three square press(by the way must I use square or circle to shoot?).
I know that training is the best way to master freekicks but I've already spent a lot of time training to long, middle and short range shots, I scored a (very)few freekicks but it was only luck...
I have to say that I am a normal player in the other areas of the game(I play ML 5stars level, and I keep winning, yes mister :p), freekicks is the only part of the game giving me such a hard time.
Don't kow if its important but I play PES4,WE8, and I'll getWE9 as soon as possible.
I hope you will share some of your tips with me..
I'm done with my first post, thank you for reading,I apologize for my english!

It depends how far out the kick is and who takes it. If you are just outside the area, you must hold down R2 as you take it and press <- or -> (depending which way you are going) and down at the same time along with r2 and hold down shoot until the guage is exactly on the half way mark. Make sure you are using a player with a high free kick ability.

When further out, like 25m or more (and possibly a little less) you must do the same as above but holding R1 instead of R2, and up instead of down with a direction. The guage must go slightly above half way to ensure it goes over the wall.

Again I must stress that it is essentail that you use a free kick taker with a high ability like Beckham/Carlos etc...

welcome to the forum! I hope I have helped. Its more difficult to score them from further out because the keepers are too good. Close range shouldn't be a problem though!

I usually try and curve the shot aswell...

UP + Square til half the meter and then after he shoots a press UP+LEFT (to curve to the left) if I'm far away and DOWN+LEFT if I'm close. The last one so if goes underneath the bar.

I use Diesler.

I reacently scored a long ranger on my ps2 with gerrard, just of half way with this tactic, from long range get a powerful shot but quite acurate and get someone to lay him off, if the wall is on the left use right and vice versa, hold R1, up and the direction you want it to curl and tap square until you get the power you want, this has to be tested, usaly just over half depending were you are. From close range get your most accurate, point the ball so its just of the post, missing, and hold the direction you want it to curl in from, which ever side your on, the opposite, and tap square for the power you need then press and hold up, usally just below half.

I tend to hold down R2 and use R1 and L1 aftertouch and the right analouge to curl. Usually on target, rarely go in....

Thanks a lot for your help, I practiced a little this evening and it seems that pressing L1/R2 is helping to aim correctly. The power bar must be filled half power and depending where you are a very little more or less.I still have difficulties to know where the ball is going to go(not where you have centred the screen I guess).
But I managed to place some shots on target, your help was very precious, thanks again!
