I've just got a digital camera today so I wouldn't mind sharing a few of the vids that I've taken on it...problem is that they're usually too big (more than 1 meg).

What's the best program to use for trimming the length (beginning and end), removing sound and such-like. I'm sure nobody is interesting in listening to my TV in the background as they watch the goals.

Thanks Zyg, I'll download them now and hopefully post some goals up later. The defender playing a one-two round his own keeper using the goalpost then thumping into the net is certainly worth watching ;)

Zyg you couldn't explain the basics to me could you please...I tried to compess my video that's 1.6 meg but it ended up at 20 meg :eek:

Here's what I do:

1. Select the vid file.
2. Click on 'convert a file' (bottom left-ish).
3. In the right column, click on 'convert'.
4. Under 'Compressor', I use 'DivX codec 4.12' but I will soon experiment with others.
Edit:- Try using the XviD MPEG-4 Codec instead [one from the bottom of the list]
5. Click OK.
File will convert.

If the converted file is too big, repeat the earlier steps and after 4, go to the 'configure' box instead of OK.
6. Reduce the 'output video bitstream' and click OK.
Keep reducing this kilobit/second value till the file is the size you want.

I'll have a go later, I managed to get it down using another program but I don't like it...plus it expires after so many goes. Cheers Zyg :)
