European PES team leader Jon Murphy said the update will address fan feedback by solving some situations where the game was hanging or freezing, and by introducing certain improvements to the performance of goalkeepers, specifically their ability to stop balls from long-distance shots.
"We've also added the option to search for opponents based on their pass support settings, which will replace Friendly Match or Player Match (depending on version) in Quick Match mode," he said. "The Speed Star skill card will also be adjusted to improve realism."

Issues with one or more players given a red card in a match, but 11 players available after loading formation
In the myPES application, we have corrected the situation where a draw result is given after win/lose on the penalties
Occasionally meaningless numbers were appearing when accessing the Community menu from the Community Card list
Formation data in the Formation settings on the Game Plan screen can only be saved from the P1 controller
Game data can be saved/loaded for both sides if you exit the Data Management menu while your opponent is saving/loading the game data and then enter the Data Management menu again on the Game Plan screen

Haha I'm disapointed to, I think that would have been to much effort by the looks of the fixes. 2 patches and there still trying to fix goalkeepers!!!!

I love PES, with all my little heart (modded of course), but stuff like this makes me unsure whether to laugh or cry lol.

They've had a year of development and will be three patches, and they're still trying to get keepers to "stop balls from long-distance" lol, man if it wasn't so serious I'd be crying with laughter.

I'm so dissapointed with PES this year. All they had to do was tweak the shooting and keepers in patch 1.00 where everything felt free and minimal scripting and it'd be better than patch 1.02.
But KONAMI had to go the long way and make the shooting worse in patch 1.01 and make everyteam park the bus in park 1.02.

speaking of shooting, I was playing a friend last night online, I had a breakaway to the goal with only the keeper to beat, I shot low right, the ball went high left for a cracking goal. After the goal I thought WTF? Shooting is the #1 priority to fix!

That's true, I don't get the same buzz as I did in Pes2011 when I score, although Pes2011 is an inferior game, when I pinged one into the top corner, It's what I was going for so when they come off I'm thinking "YEHHHHH!!! GET IN THERE!!!" sometimes your striker would get it all wrong and he'd ballon it into the stands but at least you could see what he was going for.

I'm Pes2012, like you have put, I'll go for a low shot into the bottom right corner and he'll aim top left so even if it goes in, it wasn't me doing it so you never get the same feeling of achievement.

People have complained about the power of shots being an issue, which I agree still in but ffs lets get the direction right first.

Not in the same way no, but if I press shoot but only let the bar fill up a tiny bit it would be a low shot and if I let the bar fill up over halfway it would be a high shot and the direction you pressed the left stick while shooting would be where the player would attempt to shoot.

Not completely different to what I've pressed. Using manual shooting or not is irrelevant. Shooting should never be so assisted. I know manual shooting gives you more control over the shot which is fine but when your not using manual shooting it shouldn't just shoot where it likes to. What's it doing rolling a dice to decide where the shot goes?

My point being if I push my player towards the left side of the net and tap the shoot button, it should be a low shot towards that area, if it goes wide, fine, if the keeper saves it, fine, even if the striker cocks it up and he pea rolls it to the keeper, fine. What it shouldn't be doing is rifling one in the top right corner or blast it over.

I know this can happen if he's on the turn, as in RL it's very difficult to control a shot while turning, but this happens when he's running in on goal or latching on to a though ball.

To be honest, in pes 2011 every time i pressed shoot, half the power bar would fill up so most off my shots would be high. In FIFA, the power bar is longer so you are less likely to make mistakes.
I defo agree that power bar in 2012 is a joke as if you tap it or press it medium power, it will have the same amount of power but different height because power doesn't really mean height, just how much force their is in the shots

Absolutely. One on ones are a total disaster. When i score from them, it's something like the situation you describe ^. Even though it's a goal, i still get mad since the player don't aim where i press the button. MAJOR problem, and i don't remember any other pes being like this. Really don't know what went through their minds, when they made it like this.

I agree the shooting is very much a lottery, sometimes i have scored goals exactly as i ment or was trying too, but more often than not its very random were the ball goes!!!

I experienced the same problems - but then I found out that directing shots using the D-pad improves accuracy a lot, see my post here: http://www.pesgaming.com/showpost.php?p=1853715&postcount=31

Using the D-pad I can now e.g. curl low shots into the corners when I shoot from outside the box and fairly easily score on 1-on-1 situations with the keeper.

Give it a shot!

Wow really? I think going back to using a D-pad is kind of a step in the wrong direction due to having 360 dribbling. I used to use the d-pad all the time in previous PESs but forced myself last year to use the stick for it's more versatile movement.

They'll be forcing us to use just 3 buttons next and we'll be back in the early 1990's of football games.

That's DLC. Patches focus on gameplay mainly.

DLC should come sometime early next year.

So you have to change controls to L + dpad for this to work? How do you change strategies in the game? As currently that's what the dpad does for me

No, I haven't changed any controls. I just play the game with default settings (apart from reconfiguring some of the buttons) using the left analog controller for controlling where and how my player moves etc., but whenever I want to place a shot I simply move my left thumb and press up or down on the d-pad.

I play it on the PC with an XBOX 360 controller and if I remember correctly you change tactics using the back-button + X/Y/A/B (it's a feature I currently never use though so I might remember wrong, hell might even be the PES 2011 settings).

Shooting is really crap in this game, And if they don't fix it in the next patch they must be smoking heroin or something stronger. Ive scored some great goals but fuk knows how. Cause the ball diden't go where i placed it. Fuck new boots and silly heads thats shite. It just feels like a lottery when shooting
