Why doesn't the ball go wherever I want it to go? I aim right, ball goes left... I aim left, ball goes right!
Why is this happening? Previous PES versions did not have this issue and you feel like you have control over the ball while you are shooting.
1 V 1 situations just piss me off :realmad: it is like the forwards can only shoot straight to the goalkeeper... it ridiculous! I don't even want to play PES any longer because this really upset me... I feel like I have wasted years of playing this game because I can't SCORE a simple goal now!!!

I have no idea why that video is unlisted. It should be the first video that appears when you type in PES 2012, and the most popular pes video.

Maybe the shame will finally motivate konami to change this kiddie bullshit.

Couldn't disagree more with the negative comments but each to their own, for me the shooting system is excellent. Reminds of the system used on pes last gen but with more variation and skill required this time.

Push harder on the desired direction if you having trouble aiming correctly and pay close attention to your players body position.

There seriously are some fucked up shooting techniques that konami added this year.

I respect the way that you respectfully disagree SDP, but can you watch the video above and really say shooting is not beyond stupid??

I've scored as many goals where I scratched my head wondering how, as I have missed easy goals. It seems totally random and scripted. I score more goals with two people leaning on me than I do from walking in clean.

I know its not perfect , I'm just really enjoying the shooting and feel in control for the most part. Just going off my own experience with the game. The shot doesn't always go where I want and the same goes for real life too. I feel the variation you can achieve is excellent and there is a lot of skill to the shot system. It reminds me of the last gen system which was contextual but of course relied on user input and I can really see what konami are aiming for with this system.

So for me its not stupid, its arguably the best shooting system ever featured in a football game but I dont expect everyone to feel the same.

Fair enough.

Like I said, I feel that the shooting is predetermined and even choosing the direction you want is completely down to luck.

I too, want a large consideration being given to context during shooting. In fact, I'd LOVE for this to happen. But I want it to be realistic and somewhat lifelike.

When I'm walking in alone, why is choosing the direction of my shot random? A six year old can do that.

I really feel that since the GK's have been tweaked, the shooting has become worse as konami decided to just hone shots in on the keeper (completely disregarding context).

Just my opinion though.

I certainly think shooting could be made a bit more manual and maybe move towards having a 360 ratio, I like the idea of having a manual shot modifier by the use of LT although it could confuse things and take away from player individuality somewhat.

I just don't like how it conflicts with your natural hand eye coordination to produce such random results. it may be good mechanics with lots of fancy maths to support it, but this is football not pool.

The new system for me is just to stat based. Like the first onboard computers when they were first put into cars, it takes so much control way from you that your brain naturally fights and reject it. The ball needs to be free to go where your eyes are guiding your hands.

Yeah but, in real life, if I want to shoot to the left of the goal, it will usually go somewhere in that direction, NOT the complete opposite direction.

The shooting in this game is shambolic. Too floaty and not enough control over where shots go. I'm not expecting every shot to go straight in the corner, but I was even playing as Barca and every shot I had with Messi went straight at the keeper.

If they fix the shooting on this game, I'd probably move it from a 7/10 to an 8/10.

Before I set everything to 0 assistence, and I aimed my shot to the left, the ball would go 4 cm to the left..it is somewhere in that direction. But if it happens 9/10 times with e.g. a good striker Pato, thats far from realistic.

The amount of times you tap the ball and it either goes either miles over or in the roof of the net is a joke.Then you put loads of power on a shot outside of the box and it trickles towards the goal like a schoolgirl just kicked it also happens to frequently.The side foot when your on a slight angle, one on one with the goalkeeper is really shit as well, you generate loads of power and it always seems to go in the same position.

I tried it with 0 assistance. Shots still kept going straight at the keeper. It doesn't matter how good a striker is, ANY striker should be able to aim the shots in the general direction that he wants them to go.

The shooting is often unreliable and even affects decision making while playing. I opt for not shooting in many situations when attempting a shot would be the best in real life. Basically you want to shoot into the empty net (and even here they often surprise you by missing the target too many times) or very very close without goalkeeper on the way.

P.S. I noticed this is mostly the case in ML with weaker players and improves with good quality players, which is somewhat realistic.

I agree the shooting is broken! More so in 1.01 than 1.00. At least 1.00 theball went inthe general diection you are aiming at. IN 1.01 the ball just goes to the middle. That till till the game freezes in 1.01 which is another issue.

Ughh!
