It is happening again
Penalties still look shite.

Also nice to see that players still completely fluff their shots under the slightest pressure

A few things I have noticed:
Negatives - penalty animations (EVEN THOUGH the way you take them is suppose to be better)
-THROUGH BALLS, less worrying than in pes 11, but maybe a tad too good? However this may be due to the fact that the players playing didn't defend well which was the case in some highlights.
- Some floaty shots. Not as bad as in 11, but still a bit too floaty. However, again, might be because of the players playing the game. But this won't be as worrying as in pes 11, BECAUSE THE DEFENDER CATCH UP BUG HAS BEEN REMOVED.

Positives - FINALLY, the players can control a floaty through ball well enough and ACTUALLY realise that you passes the ball to them
- Passing seems solid and seems to have more directions too, or at least your players read your passes better.
- Much smoother animations, THOUGH I STIL HAVE TO PLAY IT TO REALLY JUDGE THESE
- For sure, the response has been improved, because there were many occasions that in pes 11, a highlight (even a defesive one) couldn't be possible because of the slow response
-Player movement seems much better, BOTH IN THE OFFENCE AND THE DEFENCE.
-Best one is no DEFENDER CATCHING UP. You have to really time your tackles now, otherwise fast players like Messi will break you as in real life.

Things that I notice but I need to play it to actually confirm are:
Improved response
Animations
Penalties
Shooting
Improved player reading what you want to do

Overall, it looks good, minus a few things. But I will still wait for the demo and better quality videos. Thanks for the links.

I thought I'd make a little cameo here lol. I hope everyone is enjoying the vids I uploaded. In regards to the penalties, The system was broken in the build we played meaning that regardless of the direction pressed, the ball would only go straight.

Was it actually broken, or were you not using the PES2011 system?

I chased the videos on youtube after being deleted, and found at least one, or at least one that I think are the same as posted here. You could notice the overlap with wingers moving deep into the corners during attacks. I really like that.

Headers are much more pronounced. You can really see the head snap in the diving header goal. A few "one touch" header passes actually show a hard lean forward by the player to get the head even with a lower ball.

Thing I still don't like - defenders going so far forward... I kept seeing Javier Zanetti outside of the area shooting... HE SHOULDN'T BE DOING THIS, should be midfielders

Thanks, Goalgerd!

About the videos:

- atmosphere in the stadium: zero. It seems they are playing in a dead stadium.
- float balls: really weird
- off the ball runs: nice but I don't like the idea that AI controls everything. Wouldn't it be nice if we could actually select the player and send him to run instead COM doing all that by itself?
- the players seem "lighter" (which is good) but only playing by myself to figure that out
- new animations: I haven't seen many. Or at least nothing that I could say: wow!

Judging only by the videos, it looks like a PES 2011 or what PES 2011 should have been.

At the moment, going off those E3 build videos, the only noticeable differences between 2011 and 2012 are in the gameplay itself. The presentation, menu flow, intro-sequences, graphics etc. seem to be almost identical to PES2011. I'm hoping that some of this stuff is placeholder, and that some of the final assets have yet to be implemented.

It's been said by Konami that the real improvements this year are on the pitch, and that does appear to be the case from what i've seen so far. The game does appear to flow much better, and that strange disjointed feeling that was present in 2011 seems to have been eliminated. The ball physics look better at this stage, as do some of the animations. Obviously, there were some that were in 2011, but I also spotted some new ones in there that looked fairly decent. I'm glad that the old wide cam has made a return as well. That new camera just didn't do it for me; I found it tricky to judge the trajectory of the ball.

No one is going to know just how good PES2012 really is until a good couple of weeks after release. The thing that annoyed me most about PES2011 was that for every good game I had, the following game would be dreadful. There were far too many "what the fuck?!" moments to make it a truly enjoyable experience. This was something that I had begun to notice after around 10 days with the game, so the same time will be needed to fully evaluate 2012. I must say though, the videos do show some promise.

There's a definite divide between the different PES community forums at the moment. It's all dizzying optimism over at WENB, whilst here at Pesgaming there seems to be a lot more cynicism and pessimism towards PES2012. I think there's definitely a case for both of those given what's happened in recent years, but i'd say i'm somewhere in-between; cautiously optimistic. I definitely want PES to reach the heights it did all those years ago with PES3-6, but I do wonder if Konami will ever be able to pull it off. I guess we'll have to wait until the demo to find out!
