I bough PES from trygames.com, but the 1.2 patch won't work, saying 628 error message "installation failed". Is there a way to see which version I have, or if I need the patch?.

Also, does diving EVER work, any tips on how to convince the referee?.

Not so sure about the patch mate but diving sometimes does work, the further you are away from the ref the higher the chance you'll get away with it, also I heard that it is highly unlikely that you will get a penalty with a dive.
