I got back into this game only last week and though it wasn't as bad as last years and tipped away with the single player modes. I've pretty much played the demos and skipped through each year of this game since 2008 and the only reason I bothered with this years one was because I though maybe, just maybe it might be playable.
Well it was at first and I was even starting to think maybe this game is back on track, but the more I played it the more I found problems.
In at 5...
The commentary. It's heartless and robotic so without question I opt for any other language other than English. Game commentary hasn't evolved in 10 years, period. I'd nearly go as far as saying it gets worse as time goes on. Why they can't just take some natural sound bytes from real matches and blend the into the game is beyond me. These commentators are a lot of things but actors they are not.
4: Standing challenges are not as strong as they need to be and it's way too easy to walk through a defense in general and tap the button to beat the retarded goal keepers.
3: The ball physics when it's not on the ground are spastic and the ball floats through the are like a balloon caught in the wind.
2: The Goal keepers are the following...
Static
Dumb
Ropey
Unpredictable
Helpless
Slow
Can't throw a ball
Ruining the game
On top of that they basically haven't evolved since the creation of the ISS.
1: It's the shooting, please don't tell me that it doesn't frustrate you when someone just taps the button and drives it straight through your goalkeeper from inside the box. The shooting in general is seriously broken and that love and and satisfaction is long gone and forgotten. The lobs are shit, the curling shots outside the box are disgusting the best of times and after a goal I feel more of a Meh then joy. I'm almost at the stage of embarrassment for the game when I score soft or poor goals and most of the time try something out of the ordinary as to not troll my opponent with muck goals.
Anyways I've fallen into the trap once again with this game, a game I'm trying so hard to love and each time it slaps me in the face and leaves me smelling the shitty finger.
P.S. I've watched the 6 minutes of game footage for PES2014 and it looks like it's not going to cut it again. One shot and one spastic goalkeeper is all I took from the video and that was enough for me.

The shooting in PES is absolutely horrendous. Most of the time the ball goes through the keeper, no matter if the keeper is a lowly keeper, or Iker Casilias.
The curl shot animation is horrendous, it looks as if the player has broken his ankle.
You cannot counter attack in the game, defence always has the advantage.
It just feels far too robotic.
Its very playable but nothing on the realistic simulator that FIFA is

Everything listed there is just one more thing for Konami to fuck up. I'd like to be optimistic but judging by the last 7 entries their track record isn't the best. God help anyone who is tempted to buy it but i've been bitten to o many times and let down by biblical Konami incompetence. You just have to remember there ARE well made games out there, go look for yourself

when it comes to online matches as deep as they dig to provide a more realistic gameplay ,idiots out there dig deep enough to find flaws in Konami's deep concepts.And people learn how to exploit the game because they have been exploited by others too.Its like a virus and Konami needs to find its cure before it spreads far and fast enough for fair player to quit the game altogether.
