1) it's kind of automatic, get close enough and use the tackle (x-ps3), (A-xbox) button to jostle for possesion - if that's what you are meaning? furthermore holding (R2+x), (RT+A) will make your defender stand-off and maintain a solid defensive position, it is then a case of releasing the R2, RT trigger to activate the tackle, timing is key here, looking at the footsteps of your opponent and when he is knocking the ball forwards.
2) If you access the pause menu you can bring up a 'command list'. This is a complex list of all the manouvers your players can do. The side step will be listed here.
3) Master league online (MLO) is the nuts! Here is how it works. You create a club and are given a default squad of players. It is then your job to play mathces, earn money and sign some players that you really want in your team. All of this takes place online.
After each match your divisional ranking will adjust, generally if you win it goes up, if you lose it goes down. Every monday evening your final divisional ranking points will decide if you get promoted, stay in the same division, or face the dreaded relegation! There are 5 divisions.
Unlike fifa ultimate team, MLO transfers do not take place between users, instead you buy from and sell to the Konami central bank.
