That was not class. Two games, all four teams brazil, both games 5 goals or more, none of the goals good! Class? No.
That was an advert for all that is wrong with the game and how it is played. If you want to be the best, you have to be brazil and pass it unrealistically quickly and use the cutback goal a lot. Awful
Also that took 9 minutes to watch. That's time i'll never get back.

Sorry but that is utter bilge I'm affraid. There is so much more to football than wining, in simulation and in real life. Clearly this mentality is more excusable in real football because the stakes are so high, but on a simulation people should strive for creativity and entertainment.
You cannot simply assume that those who played 'prettier football' wished that they had been more pragmatic, they might actually enjoy playing the game the way they do and therefore would be satisfied that although they didn't win they played better football and got more out of it as a result.

Well I am guessing that there is prize money available for the winner which could be very important to them, there is also the fact that they can say that they are the best player in Europe.

I dunno about you but I dislike losing. Fuck playing pretty football, if I can win playing that way it's a bonus!

I see where you're coming from hazman79.
Myself, when playing PES, i try to play it openly, create space, pass it around and finish.
As for the cutback, or low pass across the box, i'll only use that when its the ONLY option on.
The people that constantly try to perform this (usually with money teams like Inter or Brazil) and don't vary their play aren't really worth playing but if you can defend the wings well enough and man-mark the cf aggressively you'll beat them 9 times out of 10.
Most of the exploit players can't defend for shit and don't know how to stop anything other than the cutback tactics as they know it inside out, so mixing it up and playing a space creating passing game beats them most times.
As for real football, winning is EVERYTHING.
This is how i was coached and managed, first things is to get the 3 points on the board, then bother about entertaining the crowd.
