Old school master league

Quick question?

Does anyone else like to start a master league with your own made up team and the shit default players. To me thats the fun and sense of achievement in workin your way up and buyin better players.
Alot of posts on here seem to be about playing with a proper team and playin the best teams, just wondered if anyone else shared my take on master league?:unsure:

I don't start with default players but I start with Pes united (or Stamford utd. yes I edit it)in Div. 2. First season I take The FA Cup and Champ of Div.2.(top players)

Pes united have fine players but average age very very old. This is difficult cause player's stat are decrease on the first weeks.

Now, I'm on Third season have chance to take Champ Europa league, FA Cup and 3rd or 1st in league with my young players (some from youth team)

My old players are retired or transfer to team bigger than my team.

That was a good first season on top player, im mid table in 2nd division on professional. Can be really frustrating with dodgy goals from keeper or defender errors, lovin it though.

Yeah I only ever play master league with a created team and default players, much more of a challenge to me. It's hard this year cos no-one wants to sign for me! Won div2 and the cup last season, now i'm 6th in div 1 on professional and loving the europa league!

I do it sometimes. If I don't I try to pick an average or shitty team to play with.

into my third season in ML on Top Player using default players.
WAY harder than i thought it would be (i'm used to getting promoted within the first 2 seasons on previous games)
Really difficult to get money with the default players, so have to find ones on the cheap and sell them on. highest i've finished is 13th (i did end up skipping games when i knew there was no chance of getting promoted.... mainly out of frustration because i was struggling to score.... even a declining Castolo was better than Fulhams Kamara and Sunderlands Frazier Campbell!).
Currently 14 points off 3rd place in my 3rd season after just 12 games. My defence and goalkeeper are all rubbish youth players and it looks like it will have to be 4th season lucky!
oh...and i scored the most horrific own goal ever yesterday. My keeper went to clear the ball on the edge of the box and he kicked the ball against his own arm and it went in!

I transfer my forward Paterson to Paris. Transfer fee is £26m !!!! (his value is £500,000)
He is my top scorer in last 3 season. He get 1 Top scorer, 1 Best Eleven and 1 Overall Best player.

Im EXACTLY the same

First thing I do on the new PES' is to start a new ML on Top Player with the Default Players over WE United. I learn faster playing on Top Player than battering teams on easier settings...

By the 2nd or 3rd year I've usually got a couple of good youth players in the team, achieved promotion and am mid table in the Prem.

However, this year it's ridiculous! I finished 14th in my first year with a whopping 6 wins! Following a summer of selling dead wood, promoting youth players and signing free agents in the mid-60's overall bracket, Im now sat 17th (out of 18) in Feb, with a team of 'broken hearted' want-aways, noobs with no teamwork skills whatsoever and very little money! When it comes to Match Day, I have at least 15 players on 'Purple Form', and struggle to put out a starting 11 with better than 5 players on green!

But saying all that, I couldnt be happier! what a chellenge it is this year!

glad its not just me then georgethejungl! I'll probably made it even harder for myself by replacing all the default Div 2 teams with the un-attached remaining best-of European teams (like Benfica, Galatassary, Olympiacos etc.)

Into my 4th season now (i skipped the last dozen matches of the previous season because i was 15 points or so off 3rd place)

This season though.... everything has changed. Signed a few playersaveraging an overall rating of 70 including one Striker (196cm tall) rating 68 and he is banging the goals in for me. I''ve played 10 games and he's scored 11, including 2 hat-tricks! His name i always forget, something like Veresunovic or something. I'm 4th in the table (1 point off 3rd) and into 3rd round of FA Cup.

Really loving this game (refs are terrible with the fouls they miss though....still not won a single penalty!). Great variety of goals scored and still challenging despite my good run of form

I've done pretty much the same although I have made it slightly harder. I moved the top 5 teams from each division into the Premier league and then moved the rest of the teams down into the second division! The easiest team now in Division 2 is probably Burnley.- it;s the prem league without the top 5!

I also made my own team up from one the empty team slots and started with the default players.
You get even less money to start with than any other team that way.

On Top Player level it's really tough, but I love it!
Why win everything after a couple of seasons?
I want to build a team over many seasons....

One question, does anyone know if having a higher level coach will stop the players being on downers all the time?

Hi thesim, i too like to play my ML with the default players from the start.I edit the other leagues team A to be Scunthorpe United.I had a quick go at ML wit catastrophic results,the board stepping in and releasing about 10 of my players (including Shimizu,Schwarz,Palmieri and signed a week before K.Schmiecel !)after just 3 games.Even my keeper i had left managed to get injured for 26 weeks after specialised training!Maybe he went to stuntman school.
Anyway i went back to my original plan to unlock all the players before starting ML.Which meant ive spent 40 hours on league and cup mode with still 2 leagues to unlock!
Do you have a plan to unlock the other players?I found last year i ended up going back and unlocking them after a few seasons of ML.

Hi there, no i dont usually go to try and unlock players as i usually just jump straight into ML. How does it work then do u just unlock a player after winning each cup or league?
I edit my team as sheffield city, dont ask why its just what i have done each year since pes3.

Hi yeah theres abouy 90 unlockable players in the league/cup and the tournament modes that become available in ML,so theyre worth unlocking.
Nothing wrong with Sheffield City,thats what the edit modes all about.It even sounds like one of the PES default teams!
