Any tips on winning arial balls, making your players move faster, and making your players not sit there with their thumbs up their asses for a couple of seconds as the ball rolls by them would really help me not to have wasted 30.00 on this sorry ass game.

Well to win ariel balls, apart from a player's attributes it's all about how you time your jump. Basically you have to press the button to RISE, rather than pressing when the ball is in close proximity of the head; this is something which is not very well explained in the manual. Try pressing the button while the ball is at its peak height in mid-air.

Whenever i want to win a high ball in my own half, i hammer the square button and i would say i win most balls. As for making my players move faster, i normally hold down r1 and r2 (super cancel) and run to the ball to recieve a pass better or to run to make a tackle. And thats it really. By the way, i hate the game so much that i have gone back to PES2. What a game. Best in the series.

Press R2 when moving player while the ball is in the air...that's probably obvious though

if u move the defender that you are controlling(the one going for the header) a bit behind the ball, and the oppositions man i guess, and push any of the header buttons, they usually seem to maul over the attacker and just throw them to the floor while heading the ball away...hope it helps

As for moving faster. With the ball if u tap R1 two times the player pushes the ball further in front of him and if he is pacy enough will blow away from the covering man. There really is an emphasis on skill and you need to be very patient with passing and such. Playing 5 minute games, i havent scored more then 3 goals

Aerial balls in your box: I either hold direction button towards the crosser, towards my goalie, or both and press :square: if they have tall forwards. If they're shorties I just press :square:

Aerial balls in midfield: If you're infront of them and similar height or taller control it with your chest or head it if you want. If you're taller and behind them jump. If you're shorter and behind them just push up against them without jumping and hope they miss.

Speed: :R1: + tap direction 2 or 3 times if you have lots of spaces. If you have no space, no :R1:, when they're shoulder to shoulder you'll accelerate automatically.

Passing: From the midfield up I always press :R2: after every pass to make the player run forward and into open space. Also :R1: + direction towards ball usually does the trick. :triangle: is much better now so use it more often, especially for cutting the ball back to a striker in their box.

By the way, i hate the game so much that i have gone back to PES2. What a game. Best in the series.

I've been playing pes2 aswell and i agree to it being the best in the series too.

All of those tips I asked for helped. But when it comes to the broader scope of things...:

Lol, I'm done with this game. When 7 out of 10 of my long passes hit the intended player in the face without him doing anything, it's just irritating. When my player strafes at a ball in front of him instead of running on to it, when my teammate in defense follows me around while I'm chasing somebody in the box rather than going to mark the wide open striker 5 feet from him, and when I put a long ball over the head of one of my attackers and he stops, turns around backwards, watches the ball go over his head, THEN turns around again and continues to run after it, obviously outran by his marker, it's downright rediculous.

Peace out Konami. You lost a once loyal fan.
