Online button lag - link - virgin media??

I spoke to Konami pes2010 support and they dont know why there is lag yet but he did mention that alot of people who were suffering were with virginmedia, myself and my brother included. He said they will email me a list of tests they want me to do and send them the results to help diagnose the problem but they have no idea at present. They will release a patch once they have the answer but at the moment they havent got a clue. It bizarre. i can play mgs4 online no probs but not pes2010.

is anyone ese on virgin and suffering from button lag

I just got my first game with button lag, i actualyy thought someone else was playing i sent him saying a message saying wtf im not even playing.

Then i realised it was massive button lag, then after he went 2-0 it ran fine, and i won 4-2. But to be fair its first button lag iv had in like 50 matches.

yeah that would be ok, unfortunatly i've played 3 online games and all 3 were crap even though my connection and download speed are very good.

HEY HEY HEY Someone with the same problem as me!

I've got Vigin Media and I have MAJOR button lag!! It takes about 5 seconds to respond and I can not play online!!

I hope this gets fixed :(

I can play my other games fine but on PES2010 it's impossible... Oh well at least I have my Master League and Become A Legend to keep my happy ;)

that sounds like you have the exact same problem as me. konami have no idea why yet so i dont see a fix coming soon. does online work with all other games apart from pes2010?

I am with Virmin Media also and I have played around 30 online games. I always have a green connection and have only had 1 game, last night actually, whereby I had a bit of button lag.

2 matches have started for the first couple of seconds a bit laggy and then it has levelled out to be a great connection.

I am really happy with my online experience so far in PES 2010 and I have played people from all around the world including England, Brazil, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Germany etc

I am on Virgin media aswell and it always lags I think I have given everything a go now.

Hey is everyone using wireless or wired?

Wired will be the last resort if no luck then Its back to the store

I'm with BT and the button delay online is a huge problem. I have never had a red light always green, and yet the button delay always helps my opponent who has a red light? I have lost countless games online because of this. Where are all these Patches that konami were supposed to be releasing to put right any online issues? They have admitted they got online wrong the last 2 years, signaling they knew what the problem was and would rectify it. But still no!

Bleedin' idiots. The recession will helpfully get a grip of these clowns and they will be forced to persecute those who don't solve the online situation.

i spoke to konami again and they said my network signal is fine and i should be having any problems with pro evo. They are going to pass my test results to Germany for further investigation but they said as soon as they find the reason they will release a patch.

thats similiar with what happen with the 09 last year, they always said releast patch will fit the lagging issue, than what? did they fix it? just wait for the PES2011.

I'm using Wireless too. I have no problems with other games on PS3. Games like Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: WaW, Uncharted 2, FIFA10, Far Cry 2 and some other games - I have no problem on those games :)

But I do have problems on PES2010 :( Shit

So After a whole week of frustrating ways of trying to fix the online lag I have finally sorted it out. DAMM VIRGIN

Now I am playing lag free games even if the oppenent has a red icon awesome.

Ok so here is what I did...

I ditched wireless and went wired, I know this shouldn't be a big deal since other games work fine on wireless online but I don't mind in this case for Pro Evo.

Second I changed the port setting to Auto and not manual.

and thats it folks all up and running lag free matches online PS3.

Hope this helps others.

I am going to try this tonight, I have read numerous things about virgin throttling its customers.

Many people like myself are on 10mb/20mb connections and getting 1-2mb which would explain some of the lag issues, however, as many people state, they have no problems with other games, only PES.

after giving up for a week
i ditched my router
and turned on auto port

hay presto no need to wait till pes2011

by he way im with virgin(netgear router):realmad:

If youre using netgear (like myself) try the DMZ trick, may improve lag even more

I'm a but of a newbie 2 online pro evo so can you tell me what the DMZ trick is lol. I'm with virgin 2 and using netgear and am gettin whooped on a regular basis!! Prob got absolutely nothing to do with the lag right enuf but it is well annoying when your bad and the 2-3 sec lag makes you worse :w00t:w00t:w00t:w00t
