Passing Problems

I'm using assisted passing but have a few problems. Often the passes got to the wrong player. I point in the direction of where I want to pass and at leat 2 or 3 times a game the pass will go somewhere else.

Are others finding this and how do you get around it ?

I struggle with this too. It's really frustrating especially since it seems to be at its worst when your in your opponent's penalty box. I'll be trying to pass it to an open teammate for a shot only to have it fly out of there to some CB at midfield 90 degrees in the wrong direction. It happens everywhere though and I'd say at least 30% of the goals I give up are when it passes to the wrong player. It must be Konami's way of making the game more challenging. I can't see how this bug was intentionally left in otherwise. It seems to be worse than it was in 2009.

Its prob ther to stop ping pong passing, ie just tapping x while not really caring to point the analog stick in the right direction

Adds a bit ov realism not every player makes a perfect pass and for me it happens now n again and everywhere on the pitch

Not sure there is a way round it, it is related to where you point the stick, sometimes if you check back when you run down the line and then cross your player will actually cross back to the halfway line!

No it doesnt add to realsim, stop trying to make excuses for Konami's poor effort on this game.

If the game was trying to be realistic, passes would sometimes be slightly inaccurate ( ie. slightly to the left or right of the player your trying to pass to). But not to a COMPLETY DIFFERENT PLAYER WHOS NOT EVEN NEAR THE ONE YOU WANTED TO PASS TO.

What makes this more frustrating is that it seems to happen so much more when your on the counter attack against the computer and you need to break quickly, the ball nealry always goes to the wrong player, POINTLESS.

This is probably just 1 of the 20 issues i have with this game.

The passing is broken.
The crossing is broken.
The corner kicks are broken.
The penalty system is broken.
The negotiation system is broken.
Too many well-known stadiums are missing.
The Cup/League celebrations are worst then the ones in 2009.

My fascination over the excellent graphics is over! (I should have expected it anyway)

One has to wonder, what was the money you paid for? And what was the hype over the two hundred staff members again?

crossing is fine
CK is fine
penalties are fine once you master them
negotiation has changed to be a bit more realistic and you can still change the amounts ov wage/price and contract length

Passing is fine, i can counter attack and pass to whoever i need to 99.9% ov the time

Thers not too many complaints about PES this year compared to last year

So are you on drugs?

Agree with you, I also think people like "sweetmusicman" and some others are getting alot of problems with this game because they still lack the skills to play it. Once you become good playing pes you wont be having problems with passing, corners and so on and so on.... Pes is not perfect but it´s very good anyways :)

Since you two knows effects of drugs, you two must be the ones who are on drugs.

hehe, as I said before pes isnt perfect but when you learn how to make some good passes, take corners, penalties, freekick, tactics and shooting theres no way back. Just hang in there sweetmusicman and your joy with Pes 2010 will come :) I promise you that.
Take care

Its not a pick up n play game like fifa, you need to put time into it to get the benefits, the longer you play with it and tinker around with the settings the more rewarding it gets

Yes, this is a horrible problem imo, and one I complained about in the Konami Feedback Zone for '09.

It's getting old when you are trying to pass to a player directly "above" you and instead the computer decides you should pass in front you instead. Or, when you pass in a direction but the computer decides the intended target is not the closest player, but the one further away even though you didn't hold down pass.

This is not keeping it realistic by making every pass not perfect. In real life if I make a bad pass it's still not going 90 degrees from the intended target. It's just poor, poor programing, and lazy programing that they haven't fixed it since last year. In fact, I think the problem is worse in 2010 than 2009.
