Passing system in relation to Difficulty-setting?

I have been really frustrated with the PES 2012 demo(2nd, XBOX) as I've been playing it now for a couple of weeks. Don't get me wrong, I think there is a lot of potential and a lot of great adjustments from the previous edition. :)

BUT, one thing that has really bothered me is the new passing system with the slow balls and the inconsistent powerbar. All of my mates have been feeling the same thing so I don't think I'm going totally out of my mind for feeling this. We have changed the setting of Passing from manual to assisted and semi-assisted but still the same inconsistency.

So yesterday we dropped the difficulty-level to Normal from Professional/Top Player and - Hey what do you know, the passes was going to the right places and the power-bar actually felt consistent.

Is this really what Konami has intended to do? That if I play on Toplevel my passing ability becomes inferior? I just thought a higher difficulty level meant that my opposition got better. If I am going to beat Barca on Top player I am going to need the passing to be as consistent as when I'm playing against them on Normal. I'd like to play against the best AI but still want to be able to pass the ball to the right fucking guy so staying on Normal is not an option.

Has anyone else tried this change of difficulty and felt the difference or is it just me?

Lastly, I just want to point out that I have loved PES since PES 4 so no need to go on about that I'm being negative for the cause of it.
