Probably because the whole game was too responsive - players were never offside so it had to be toned down. Face it, not every player has great responsiveness. It hasen't been toned down much but demo 1 was the most responsive then demo 2. After every patch or demo, the response is decreasing
The CPU AI is at it again. After playing a few matches on superstar, the game is more rigged sadly. I have given up for PES. I might carry on playing the alternative

Sometimes you get a good decision yourself, or you score with seconds to go. It evens itself out, just as in real life.I don't think its the best sim because the core ganeplay is great but everything is too rigged and 'fixed'. To win a match is nearly impossible unless you can somehow make them stay away from the ball when you are leading. I don't know why, but I buy this game everyyear but so far in my ml, I haven't won a single match yet because any CPU team you verse will never tire and can keep running to the last minute wheras your players give up, the CPU never make mistakes when they are trailing, every player in their team has 99 ball control and can keep possession in the tightest of spaces, everyone makes pique interceptions and last of all, everyteam plays the same like Barca but with less or NO mistakes and it takes away the realism.Yeah there is no two ways about it the game is rigged / scripted whatever you want to call it. Most of the time you can see when it is going to happen too, which would be laughable if it wasn't so frustrating when it happened. The thing is, the game will always be this way, it's never going to change now I'm afraid. Well I would be surprised if it did anyhow.
Bottom line is this though, it's still the best footy sim out there, there in my opinion is nothing even close to it. You can't match the feeling of accomplishment taking Wolves to the Etihad and grinding out a one nil win against City. I don't think any other game gives you this.
I tend to treat the scripting like the poor ref'ing we get down the Molinuex every other week
Personally I love this game, I love the game every year it's realised, I think most of us do, otherwise we wouldn't keep buying it. Yeah every year it has it's faults and annoyances. But really, can you say "The other game" is even close to the enjoyment levels Pro can give?
I don't want to even switch to FIFA as the gameplay is boring but atleast it infuriated me less so I'd probably do ultimate team.Problem is mate I have to agree with all you've put there. Everything you've listed does seem to happen. I played against Norwich at home the other night and I was leading 2-1 until the 80th min when they equalised. They then proceeded to keep possession without me touching the ball until the final whistle. Yeah absolutely infuriating, I agree.
I dunno though, perhaps it's down to the individual. I'm 3rd atm with Wolves in offline ML (some might say there's your realism shot straight off) and I'm loving it.

I don't concede those goals as I use R2 and square and only concede when they are on a counter and they cross it or if I tackle someone and the ricohet as normal goes to the CPU who blast it from long range.Are you serious? I haven't tried the new patch but the cpu ONLY score from insane one man dribble efforts against me, because if i release r2 (holding r2+x) it's a free kick or a penalty which of course is always a goal to the cpu. I've never conceeded goals from long shots and i don't think i've ever seen the cpu even trying to make a low cross. Funny how different the game can be
By the way i agree with both you and Watty regarding the game. There are both good and bad things as every year. But i must give Watty that the feeling og scoring and winning is just better in pes than f**a because it's quite an achievement - maybe because of the game is scripted as you say
