Seems to me that the computer AI has been toned down and that not every team parks the bus. Feels easier with less scripting, GK'S have improved, shooing feels the same. I haven't played enough to criticise, but it's not as good as patch 1.00 or the demo

Cheers abu good to know scripting has been toned down not so good about the shooting tho i think ive got the hang of it or used to it anyway! Havent been near the ps3 to get patch yet so guess I'll find out what its like when i do!!

Quick question for anyone uin the know.....a friend of mine doesn't like the new patch and wants t+ revert back to 1.02. Is this possible?

Has anyone started a new Be A Legend since the latest patch was released? Are there any noticeable improvements to this mode? Kinda hoping to be able to start again after I felt it was a bit shit during the last patch.

Cheers

They made all the players feel less responsive and less fluid,.. Why??
Probably because the whole game was too responsive - players were never offside so it had to be toned down. Face it, not every player has great responsiveness. It hasen't been toned down much but demo 1 was the most responsive then demo 2. After every patch or demo, the response is decreasing

Talking of offside... The cpu got away with a blatant one last night... 1-0 up 2mins to go against Arsenal and they hit a long throughball which they scored from. Straight off I thought, that's pissing offside that, so checked it on replay and their dude is a good 5 yards offside. Just looked at the screen in disbelief as Walcott raced through and buried it.

Anyhow, first time I've had that happen.... Onto the patch... Game doesn't feel a whole lot different to me, still love it. I think the only difference so far is that when I'm 1 on 1 I'm tending to score now all the time, rather than the ball just going straight at the goalie.

Yeah it's broken...I'm at 700 and sometimes it takes forever for me to get a game..always pairing me up with ppl with default players..

HA. :w00t

You do know how many people there are ranked at 700+ in the world, right?

If you don't want to hang around for ages for a game, you're going to have to "settle" for players rated at 500/600.

Sorry we can't keep up with you!

The CPU AI is at it again. After playing a few matches on superstar, the game is more rigged sadly. I have given up for PES. I might carry on playing the alternative

Yeah there is no two ways about it the game is rigged / scripted whatever you want to call it. Most of the time you can see when it is going to happen too, which would be laughable if it wasn't so frustrating when it happened. The thing is, the game will always be this way, it's never going to change now I'm afraid. Well I would be surprised if it did anyhow.

Bottom line is this though, it's still the best footy sim out there, there in my opinion is nothing even close to it. You can't match the feeling of accomplishment taking Wolves to the Etihad and grinding out a one nil win against City. I don't think any other game gives you this.

I tend to treat the scripting like the poor ref'ing we get down the Molinuex every other week ;) Sometimes you get a good decision yourself, or you score with seconds to go. It evens itself out, just as in real life.

Personally I love this game, I love the game every year it's realised, I think most of us do, otherwise we wouldn't keep buying it. Yeah every year it has it's faults and annoyances. But really, can you say "The other game" is even close to the enjoyment levels Pro can give?

I don't think its the best sim because the core ganeplay is great but everything is too rigged and 'fixed'. To win a match is nearly impossible unless you can somehow make them stay away from the ball when you are leading. I don't know why, but I buy this game everyyear but so far in my ml, I haven't won a single match yet because any CPU team you verse will never tire and can keep running to the last minute wheras your players give up, the CPU never make mistakes when they are trailing, every player in their team has 99 ball control and can keep possession in the tightest of spaces, everyone makes pique interceptions and last of all, everyteam plays the same like Barca but with less or NO mistakes and it takes away the realism.
I want to go to FIFA as they have more options and sliders for passing, shooting and the game is rigged less.

Also, to note, the CPU only score by long shots or low crosses which is another demonstration on the srcipting

Problem is mate I have to agree with all you've put there. Everything you've listed does seem to happen. I played against Norwich at home the other night and I was leading 2-1 until the 80th min when they equalised. They then proceeded to keep possession without me touching the ball until the final whistle. Yeah absolutely infuriating, I agree.

I dunno though, perhaps it's down to the individual. I'm 3rd atm with Wolves in offline ML (some might say there's your realism shot straight off) and I'm loving it.

Hope FIFA gives you what you want chap :)

Anyway the whole ranking system is effed up pretty bad. I mean I use to play competitions a lot. So one of these last competitions I played, I was ranked 624 before it began. So I won, and it gave me a win bonus of 53 points. Fair enough, I had 670. Then again I go, a lot of wins, pretty fair... then in the semifinal, tie with a user 500+. So I lose about 15 points, no big deal I said. Ima win this and get it all back. I won the final and they gave me a completion bonus rating of 5. lol. Not that I care so much about this, but it simply doesn't make sense to me.

I don't want to even switch to FIFA as the gameplay is boring but atleast it infuriated me less so I'd probably do ultimate team.
Also, what difficulty fo you play on? It might be because I play on superstar

I think I've finally had it with this game (out of the box). Yesterday I stripped everything away on both the PS3 and the PC, getting rid of my beloved 'almost perfect modded setup' along the way. I've played this game for two days now but feel, once again every step forward is two steps back. Had three lovely games in a row (all home mind), and then an absolute train wreck of a game. Keepers seemed to be fixed a little with the long distance stuff fair play, but there was one CPU goal where the striker was at a difficult angle about 22 yards away, and hit this rubbish ground shot around 5mph, which had Doni (yellow) rooted to the spot before the ball somehow curved in slowly. IRL the keeper could have just walked to the ball it was THAT bad. Completely took the wind out of my sails and proved once again that this game, unless significantly modded is a disaster.

The shots still don't go where you aim most of the time, the ball is still like a balloon. The pace of the game seemed better with this patch, and the CPU not as Maradona like in their dribbling. But there's still lots of weird shit going on. This was all on the PC by the way, the PS3 version I believe hardly anything has changed.

Had the game on -1 gamespeed and TP. Going to do some more testing, but if this continues I've had it with KONAMI and their out of the box game.

Are you serious? I haven't tried the new patch but the cpu ONLY score from insane one man dribble efforts against me, because if i release r2 (holding r2+x) it's a free kick or a penalty which of course is always a goal to the cpu. I've never conceeded goals from long shots and i don't think i've ever seen the cpu even trying to make a low cross. Funny how different the game can be :)

By the way i agree with both you and Watty regarding the game. There are both good and bad things as every year. But i must give Watty that the feeling og scoring and winning is just better in pes than f**a because it's quite an achievement - maybe because of the game is scripted as you say :)

I don't concede those goals as I use R2 and square and only concede when they are on a counter and they cross it or if I tackle someone and the ricohet as normal goes to the CPU who blast it from long range.
The reason it feels better is because PES is generally harder but this could be because of scripting

does Jenkey's patch work with the new version? or should one wait? is there any point in upgrading?
