i think the new patch makes it harder to defend again. I like the game but its really crazy that konami already released 3 gameplay patches within 3 months after the release date. please do your homework next year before you release the game. the 2nd demo was incredible good but the retail release was meh at first sight

I played quite a few games online this weekend with the new patch. All vs friends in community setting. I really like the new patch, it makes the game more tactical, slower paced (game is still quick) and more balanced. At first defending is harder but when you get the hang of it its actually better than the previous patch. The players now feel heavier, the fast ones on Barca even Messi now take longer to turn and look more realistic in their movements. Now if they could only sort out the shooting it would be great!

yup I agree. But I don't feel that its necessarily a bad thing. After a few games you get used to the new response time and it feels better than the weighless players of earlier patches. IMO :D

OMG, this is an AWESOME thing in new patch. I haven't tried it yet. PES2010 had the heaviest, most unresponsive players in pes ever, and that was the best when you got the touch of it. Human beings are heavy things (mostly) so PES2012 player response times were ridiculously too fast originally

Have to say peeps, after giving 1.03 a prolonged go even without Jenkey's, I'm enjoying it. Played two games ON THE PS3 yesterday, Pitchside Cam, -1 gamespeed, and really, really enjoyed it.

Played a game on the PC, with 1.03 but with only a few Jenkey tweaks but without any gameplay stuff and again it felt good, once again on Pitchside, -1 speed.

Fair's fair peeps, but so far I'm starting to really get to grips with it. This is on Superstar, 15 mins.

Patch 1.04 should be a mlo special, no team types, proper divisions like in pes 2011, plus maybe toning down the form arrows(too much difference), and making them change every match.

Other than that, im enjoying 1.03, i would rate it as good as 1.00 for me.

So are you suggesting every football weighs 1000 stones because thats how it was in 200 and it was just so rigid and crap because of the low responisveness and feel

Took the new patch for a test-drive. I'm quite rusty in PES after the exams and x-mas preparations, but the game felt quite good. I noticed a few annoyances, but nothing major.

I felt in control of the shooting, the shots was hard enough, defense seemed more or less properly positioned, and my players made sensible runs. Safe to say that I am satisfied, and even though I am not entirely sure that it's needed anymore, I'll try the yair and jenkey1002 patches and see if I enjoy them more than vanilla 1.03.

Just got the patch and after a few games (without tweaking) it was pretty good already, but after changing the game speed to -1 i feel that it's opened up even more for me.

The game feels well balanced and handles a lot more realistic than before.

I've fallen in love again :) THANK YOU KONAMI :)

I'm currently on Superstar but here's what i think:

TOP PLAYER:
Feels a lot more challenging but less realistic even with gamespeed -1. Teams tend to score against me via rebounds :(

Superstar:
The Match builds up nicely/organicly and feels less scripted (it feels alot more like a proper footie match)

But is it me, or does TOP PLAYER feel more difficult than Superstar?

I still have to get patch 1.03 because I have been playing some other games recently and I also got to try my new graphics tablet :)

But, it's great to hear good things about it.:cool:

Personally I love this game, I love the game every year it's realised, I think most of us do, otherwise we wouldn't keep buying it. Yeah every year it has it's faults and annoyances. But really, can you say "The other game" is even close to the enjoyment levels Pro can give?

We keep buying it because apparently only TWO companies think a footie game is worth producing. It sucks completely. The fact that there's no competition does not negate that. I know I will never buy either game EVER again though. (At least I hope I can control my love for the game; 2K where you at?)
