well i came up with the right call names of the players by importing just the kits n few more files that i needed in cv_0

@ Nono2005 - You didn't touch cs.img at all? If not, the problem has to be in cv_1. I suggest you re-extract cv_1 from your original iso, import param and unnamed_25 again, then put it back in your PES iso.


@ paulitix - Is it just Arsenal that hangs? I had the same problem with Bayern. Make sure you re-import all 10 files for Arsenal (2 kit, 4 letter, 4 number) and not just the kits. That should fix it.

Well, I imported all 2072 (i think) number and letter files using AFS Explorer, so that should've doen it. Both kits look fine in the kit select screen, its just on the match loading screen where it shows the line-ups is where it stops. For other matches, the animation is jittery, so you can tell that there's loading happening in the background. But when its an Arsenal match, I don't think anything is being loaded (animation is smooth).

And I also get random sound problems too (I always thought this was a myth)

I have been reading this thread for 2 days now and have finally been able to burn an copy of the game with the proper EPL kits, names, cup logos, etc. and wanna say thanks to paulitix, rg11, gonzoPHD, and k1llu for sharing their info.

Unfortunately, now I am stuck at the part where everything else is working (hopefully), except for the player names spoken by the commentator. So I know that in order to get rid of this problem, I have to go back to the original cv_0 and import the kits, numbers, and letters there but I am still a newbie and do have a few questions if someone could help me out.

1) Do I have to import each one of the kits, numbers and letter bin files individually? If not how else do you do it? (I have gotten good at using the GGS but dont really know how to use the AFS explorer)

2) After importing these files do I use the original unnamed 25 and param files or the ones i got from Agimar's patch?

3) When importing the files from Agimars cv_0 to the originals some of the files are bigger and it does not allow me to import them. Is there any way around this or what am I doing wrong? I have been trying to distribute reserved space in the GGS as i go about improrting but once again it says that the files are too large.

Any help would be much appreciated! but I also dont mind ronalinho being called marquez and trezeguet called xabi alonzo :) but once again THANKS FOR THE GREAT WORK!!!

1) You don't have to, but most people here have had trouble with GGS crashing randomly while importing all of those files. (And let me tell you, there's nothing that makes you want to jump out of a window more than importing 100 files, only to have GGS crash when you do 101) Anyway, here's a quick how-to for AFS...

- File -> Import AFS file (change "file type" to "all files")
- Open Agimar's cv_0, say no to any questions
- Highlight all files to export, right-click -> export, save in empty folder
- Open your cv_0, Action -> Import Folder, choose folder you just made

2) Some people might do otherwise, but my advice is to only use Agimar's param. Your cv_1 should be totally original, except for his param. You can manually edit the unnamed_25 stuff in the game.

3) Open Agimar's cv_0 in GGS, click on the .bin for the kit you want. Then drag the home kit into the window where it says "Game Graphic Studio" in rainbow colors (top right). Once the kit shows in the top-right, right-click --> 'save as' --> '.png'. Repeat for the away kit.

Once you've got them all, open your cv_0, and go to the .bin whose textures you're gonna replace. Right-click --> 'open' in the top-right window, open your .png, then drag it down over the fake Chelsea kits.

Indy for u to get good call names u gotta do like i did dont import the whole cv_0 from any patch, get the clean original cv_0 and import only the files u need like kits, logos or something if the GGS says file is too big import just the textures otherwise u will get the commentary calling Delaney for Giggs, Sylvestre etc. im guessing pal n US version have files in different places probably shown as unknown and unnamed

Gonzo, do you have any need to resize files anymore? I find that I still do quite a bit of minimizing of unused kit slots (I don't import Bundesliga, so have quite a bit of free slots.)

I do this cuz there are various other files (logos, cup, boots etc.) that I change that increase the size of the cv_0

No, I'm done resizing - at least for now. I only imported EPL kits, numbers, letters, and flags/emblems. I didn't do anything with boots, balls, cup/league logos, or the Bundesliga. So I dropped 75 or 80 of the fake Chelsea kits down to 1 color each (from 256), and that gave me enough room (drops them from 40KB to 4KB).

I would eventually like to import the proper league/cup logos, and I think there are enough remaining unused kit slots (somewhere around 150 total) to make the necessary room if I do. But I'm not too concerned with anything else right now.

And just for laughs, I took a count yesterday - and to date, I've used 27 DL's getting to this point.

I did work in deferred mode - but any time I was importing a group of files, I'd first extract the originals and check their total size. Then I'd check the total size of the files I was importing, and whatever the difference was - that's how many of the extra kit spaces I would replace. So after applying the changes and rebuilding the .img, I would minimize the whole file to bring it down to size.

I only imported the numbers and letters for the EPL. All of the other ones are correct by default, aren't they?

What's your ultimate goal? Bundesliga, Nationals, Classics, and MLS?

I wish there was a tutorial we could post. However, this is all trial and error - as you can tell by the ridiculously high number of discs we've used. The best advice I can give you, is to go in stages. Make a change, test it, and then make a backup of your cv_0 (or whatever). So after you make your next changes, you can always step back if it doesn't work.


What program to edit the option file ?

You edit the option file in-game. I'm sure you can hex edit an existing one, but I don't even want to think about going down that road.

My ultimate goal? I've done Classics and Nationals. I'd love to get MLS in there, but I dunno if the kits are out there. And then theres the whole rosters issue. Bundesliga is not a priority, or Dutch League for that matter (with a mild interest in Feyenoord), I dont think I ran with any of those teams in previous versions...except when DeGuzman still played for Hannover.

hi paulitix i have been following your post and i used agimars super pacth but just like you cv_1 was too big and i import cv_0 i have the team logos but no epl kit even with the clear memory cache but pls if you get a patch that you know it works pls let me know i am a big fan of winning eleven now pes 2008. i have the 360 us version it's hard living in los angeles thanks

i didnt clear the memory cache n i got the kits but u need to import the param_dat_27 thats the file that tells xbox where new kits have been relinked for unlicensed kits

Also, if you've imported Agimar's entire cv_0 - be sure to check your commentary names. As rg11 said in a previous post, you may have to import just the kits, numbers, and letters.

Thanks @gonzophd i have aleady and i dont really care about the names all i want is the epl and i am trying to change the mamin menu text style. i dont have modal manager but i will get it thanks mate.

@rg11 - I don't know about anyone else, but I didn't do the Bundesliga. So I ended up using FrenChroniK's patch instead of Agimar's, because it left the Dutch League where it was. I think someone in another thread was working on a US option file to fix the Bundesliga rosters, but I don't know if they finished it yet.
