I'm confused I have heard people talk about patching does this refer to the Ps2? If so how do you patch the ps2? To further confuse me I have seen patched PES2 games and considering PES didn't come to the computer until this year how is this possible...arrrrrrggggggggggghhhhhhhhh I know nothing of computers or patching or files or hardware or, or , or...........I have now cast myself into a fiery chasm. goodbye.

no patching is the process of updating files on your PC so that games run better. Companies release patches for PC games to fix bugs that they discover after the release or possibly to add new features.
Most PS2 games have more time spent on them (in terms of proof reading and beta testing) so they don't normally require patching

With regards to patching of PES3, people have made an image of the game on their PC and created tools and programs to edit various parts of it. This has led to people creating kits with licences and all as well as new advertising boards, new music for the game, new balls and much more like that. You can even edit the stadia if you know how.

Patch-makers put this info together onto a patch file which they share with others. You can then download this patch and apply it to the image of the PES/WE disk and once you've burned the new patched image, you can play it on a chipped/modded PS2.

I have patched PES3 successfully and it looks so much better. It just feels like a new game!

Images of stuff that people have edited in PES3 and WE7 includes:

and there are more pics too but some have gone missing and some aren't of good quality. Would be good if more people could supply pics of a patched game.

false, actually ps2 games have a shorter development time because they have fixed hardware they are developing for...also the reason why there are less (not none) bugs.

most patches for pc games are related to hardware and the wide variety of hardware that people end up running.

i've had extensive talks with my atari ppl about this.
