Is it possible to make transfers happen while you've started a league or a cup in edit mode that will take effect during your league/cup?

Say you've started a league or a cup and you do a couple matches then exit go into edit mode, make a transfer, will that transfer show up like in the old PS2 games? Or is it just like the 360 and PS3 versions and it doesn't?

If it doesn't is there some kind of mod or loophole that fixes that?
Because it's on PC i'd imagine there could be?
