PC version sucks compared to PS2

I have been playing the PS2 version of Winning Eleven for some time but I bought the PC version so that I could play online and I hate it! It seems much more arcade-like than the PS2 version. The games are faster and you can see less of the field whatever camera angle you use. I lose online a lot but that's not really surprising considering I lose playing against the computer on the PC version too. The PS2 version seems far superior and for me is the greatest game ever made. The PC version appears to be a much watered down version and I'm really disappointed with it.

however its easier for online play and for uploading option files

for online play with ps2 and x box and getting option files for x boxes and ps2's there is a lot of hassle

I say it's the complete opposite...
I own the PC version and play PS2 version at my cousin's who lives like 20m away from me and it's total crap..maybe it's because his TV is small but the players look like miniatures, you can hardly see the ball because of TV quality, can't change video settings; the coolest thing is the PS2 is the controller...but then again I own one for PC.
Not to mention patches that come out and option files to update the transfer market...I still play with Vieri in AC Milan, Cassano in AS Roma..but he doesn't even give a f*** so we just play the game as it came out. Team names don't match and in PC you just get an option file and it's done. That's my opinion, and I do respect yours even not agreeing.

But it is all down to the T.V quility.I have got a Panasonic widescreen and you can see the players perfectly.I sugest to check it on different T.V's.Also i have a Max Drive so I can just transfer Option files easily.

I thought the PC version of PES5 was nicer than the PS2 version. Graphics were a whole lot smoother than PS2's, more than I'd expected.

Still to me there is a big difference playing PES5 on an Xbox on a TV, or playing it in 1280x960 with Anti-Aliasing and Anisotropic filtering. The TV version does look kind of smoother and different, but to me it all seems to come down to the difference in monitor accuracy.

With an Xbox controller for the PC, my PC version plays almost exactly like the Xbox version. I can sense some slight differences in gameplay, everything seems more evenly paced, not as big speed changes when pressing the sprint button, shots seem more floaty and soaring in a way (sort of the difference between a football and a beach ball, if you know what I mean).

But when sort of getting into the same feel that I have playing Xbox, there is not much separating them. Just seems to me like the same difference you get if you change gamepads, or buy a new bigger TV. You get a different feel to it. Either way, tt's awesome. :)

Yeah and your players are also fat and streched out since the only version of PES5 that "supports" widescreen resolutions is the PSP version.

Back to the original post.
I have PES5 on the PSP, PC, and xbox; a few of my friends have the PS2 version. Even on my HDTV, the xbox version looks like total ass compared to the PC version. And yes, I even used LODmixer on my xbox version. How can you think the PC version is watered down? The PS2 and PSP versions are the real watered down versions. They are the reason why Juce had to make the LODmixer tool for the PC and xbox version since a PC and xbox are much more powerful than the PS2 and can run the game at the highest settings. Even with everything set to 1 in LODmixer the xbox and PC versions show zero slowdown. The PS2 version has plenty of slowdown during some freekicks and corners and the PSP version has unforgivable slowdown in these situations. The gameplay might feel slower on the PS2 because the PS2 is a much slower machine, makes sense doesnt it?

pc is the best. to hell with ps 2 version i have ps 2 it sucks too slow and slow response pc is the best!!!!!!!. ps 2 is too sorry. by the way i play my pc pes 5 with ps 2 controller. so i suggest u try it. at first seems too fast but later i appriciated it. pc is a faster processor than ps 2.

you can spend a lot on a plasma TV or whatever but on every monitor it'll look just as good =). as for me.. i prefer PC over a PS2.. i love keyboard .. the controller was never my thing.. i'm just used to the WASD co-orination.
well i got dual 20" BenQ LCD's now and PES5 has never looked better. My cousin has his PS2 to his Panasonic Viera 108cm Plasma.. i gotta admit it looks good but its got a lot less options for the game and highest res it can do is like 1280X768 or something.

here it is simple
Computer Monitor - DIGITAL
Average TV - Analog

analog is Very blurry and it's hard to read writing. try hooking up your PC to your tv and realise the difference. even if you had like 16X AF and 8X AA on a TV it wont look taht much different, but if you have it on a LCd or a CRT monitor you will notice everything that is different.

That might be the highest resolution for the TV but it is not what the PS2 can do. PES5 on the PS2 might be 640x480 or 720x480 max. The only game to support anything higher on the PS2 was Gran Turismo 4. :)

god dam thats EVEN worse.
i would only ever use 640X480 on pc when i want to just play in a window while using other programs. doesnt look "TOO" bad on a small screen. but on a big screen thats horrible

yes that would by why.. you're probably using some intergrated GF4 or Radon 9200se chip. it would only run good on like 800X600 on low detail =/

my 5200 ran pes3 @ 800x600 on low detail fine. anything higher it goes laggy

A decent comp and monitor with a PS2 controller, and the PC version owns the Ps2 version. Trust me.

I have an excellent LCD monitor and use a PS2 controller and I still think it sucks. The game is too fast and arcade-like.
