Is there some magic to PKs? And please tell me you can practice them without drawing a 5 minute exhibition match? I just had my 5th PK shootout and I have yet to score by kicking the ball left or right. If I hold down left or right I kick it wide and when I try to only hold left for a second the guy hits it straight. This is the only way I've managed to score.

EDIT I don't care if the keeper saves it! I just want to hit it to the keepers right with a controlled shot!

go to practice, set it for free kick, then place the ball inside the 18 yard box.

this will give you a chance to practice penalties.

can anyone explain in words the method for taking penalties, i cant view youtube so no tutorials.

i've taken maybe a hundred on practice but i cant get the hang of it, i've figured the analogue stick direction is relevant to the end of the pitch you are shooting towards. aiming away from the goal keeps it low i think and aiming towards the goal aims high.

surely then if i am shooting towards the goal on the right if i want to place it in the bottom right corner i should push the analogue to the bottom right of my pad.

all i can acheive though is missing the goal by a mile or being able to put the odd (random) one into the centre of the net.

please help if you know how to do these.

^ Just tap shoot and hold prefered direction thereafter no more than 1/1.5 seconds.
Once you see where the penalties go (how high and wide) you will be in a better position to judge how much power you need to apply for high or wider shots.

In the last 3 penalty shootouts I've missed probably 2 out of 15.

Again, just tap shoot and then hold direction for no more than 1.5 secs and let go see what happens.

i hate penalties since pes 2010 came out.. havent scored a single one yet, even worse, none of the ones ive kicked went to goal.. they all went out :x
