People with crap connections shouldn't be able to play

Half of my defeats are because of lagging, i try and explain this to people but they say i've made it up, the fact of the matter is when it lags, i lose out simply because the buttons i press don't react to when i press them, thus getting tackled, running the ball out of play, real amatuer mistakes. or so it looks, but i've absolutly murdered people when i host,

I like the idea of a ranking system to do with the lag, but i could see some assholes after you beat them, give you bad feedback because of it.

perhaps a new section in the player profile, simply to show your current internet connection, i'm on 512, and never get any complaints about it.

I have been plaing online now for a couple of days - 16 games in total. I probable get bad Lag on 50% of these. I thought it was happening to both players and that my opponent was just coping with it better than me.

Am i right in thinking that it only happens on one of the screens? How do I know if the lag is my fault or the opponents?

Also how do II know when I am hosting? Is it when i play left to right?

a ranking system is def a good idea but far too susceptible to abuse- ie I lose a game and blame it on lag.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think your hosting the first half when you create a game and you're hosting the second half when you join a game.

I believe it to be the person that creates, or is considered the home side, is the host first half, and the away side is then the host second half. With the risk of confusing, I believe this to switch when going in to extra time, and the away side hosts the first half of E.T. and the home side the second half of ET.

I must add, for the benifit of tiktiktiktik, that I have a 4mb connection, used soley for PES5 (when playing online) meaning plugged directly in to the cable modem, and people have still complained of lag, so to try and say that people are creating lag through ignorance is ignorant itself, there are over 25000 people registered this might have something to do with it. To add to that for TomIsADeftone, I have played over 200 games online, some with and some without lag, I no longer complain when there is lag because I always half expect there to be lag, when there is none it is a bonus, so my point is, because nobody complains doesn't mean they are not suffering as well, they just get on with it; as mentioned in other threads, you deal with it by playing deeper and try and get a goal on the counter, second half is your time to shine!

Backdoor, its quite easy to tell who is suffering from lag, when first half you are all over them and they can not get near you, second half is like the have 20 players on the pitch and scoring for fun, just like TomIsADeftone explained.

im also on 512 and a guy from france said my connection was ace and so was mine to his no lag at all. Lag is more than connection its also on relay reactions of your service providers server.. like somdays their maybe more ppl on the LAN server so its slowe etc
