Hello.
I'm having some troubles with PES8.
first:
i have a Core 2 Extreme QX9650 cpu 4870 Radeon and 4GB 1066Mhz ram.
so no problem with hardware...

I'm playing the game, after five minutes (approx) the game freezes
and the only thing i can do is reset.
I'm playing at 1366X768 resolution.

when i'm playing at other/lower resolutions that game does not freeze.
this happens only on my new rig with VISTA 64.
on the old one i played with the same resolution and in worked fine
(amd 3200+ and radeon X1900XT) with VISTA32.

so what the hell...?:realmad:

i'm playing on 32' LCD screen...the native resolution is 1366X768.

and i don't think it's overheating issue.
GRID
PURE
DEVIL MAY CRY 4
SEGA RALLY
CRYSIS WARHEAD
FLATOUT ULTIMATE CARNAGE

all work perfectly on the highest graphic settings and on same resolution.
the problem is in the game no doubt, but what really causes it, i don't have a clue.

I'm sure you're not playing Crysis at the very highest settings (is anyone??) but yes I take your point

Race Driver GRID, Devil May Cry 4 and Crysis are definitely miles and miles more taxing graphically than PES 2008 could ever wish to be.

Have you checked the Event Viewer under Administrative Tools in the Control Panel to see if it can detect what the error is? Have you tried, before the computer freezes, quickly switching to the Task Manager and checking how much memory and processor time PES 2008 is taking?

By the way, nice PC ;)

Wow, what a hardware!

You could increase the speed of the fan of the video card using ATi Tools...

Or search for a hotfix in the net...

Or better, do you have the Service Pack 1?

thanks!

well bad news. i had the same problem with another game: Race 07 GTR EVOLUTION... this time it froze then gave me a blue screen with the error code: 100000EA which says something about faulty display adapter or display driver...

i have the catalyst 8.9, i don't remember having troubles with 8.8 but 8.9 was out at the same time i bought the computer so i haven't had time to realy play something on it.

it really pisses me off :\ it's strange how some games work great and some just freeze. BTW here's the info on the bluescreen if it helps in something:

roblem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.0.6001.2.1.0.256.1
Locale ID: 1033

Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: 100000ea

BCP3: 0000000000000000
BCP4: 0000000000000000
OS Version: 6_0_6001
Service Pack: 1_0
Product: 256_1

and CDDRodrigom, if you ment SP1 for vista, yes it's updated, Vista X64.

here what i got when i pressed "search for a solution":
Check for ATI Graphics Driver updates

This problem was caused by ATI Graphics Driver, which was created by ATI Technologies, Inc.. There is no solution for this problem at this time.

:(:(:(:(:(

PROBLEM SOLVED...

the graphics card bios was the problem.
there is a problem in Sapphire 4870 512MB models that is solved with bios update.

Greetings.
