PES 2008 on PS2, defenders up for set pieces?

Sorry if this has been covered before, but is it possible to bring centre-backs/defenders up from the back from free kicks and corners?

My mate said he can do it on XBox and it'd be really helpful for me if I could get my defenders up as well.

Thanks very much,

Jake.

Well if you could, then it should be there as an option in:
-> Formations Settings, Setplay Settings

And then together with the settings "Long FK Taker" and "Short FK Taker" and "Left CK taker" etc etc there should be a setting called "Player to go up".

On the PS3 it's the last option in the "setplay settings".
Then just select 3 players or so...
I think 3 is the max.

But don't pull up to many CB's for example, it leaves gaps in your defense afterwards.

I am on Set Piece taker, I have the free kicks and corners, penalty, then just Auto Settings.

Nowhere to select who goes up ...

You cant do it on PS2
Go to team settings and strategy. go to strategy A or B where you can set a formation and if you press L2 and o or x or whatever. I set a 2-4-4 formation with 4 CFs (set it however you like) with my biggest and best in the air players up front. I activate the formation when i get a corner freekick or throw-in. It doesn't work too well on corners because they still dont seem to get in the box for the corner but afterwards if the ball comes back, they get in there and you can put a cross in (best to put it back in asap.) It works best on throw-ins I find as by the time you work a bit of space they should have gathered in the box and the big lads tend to win a lot of the headers. Try to press the buttons before the game loads (just as the ball crosses the line or the whistle blows so that they are in the positions when it re-loads.

I find this strategy works very well if you have people who are good in the air and also useful if you are desparate for a goal. (I get a few goals from it). Hope this helps.

It happens automatically on ps2 in the last 10-15 minitues if you are a goal down one of your CB's will be in the box.

Paul is also right. If you have it on auto settings the computer automtically changes how attacking you are and in the last 10-15 mins, if you need a goal, 1 0r 2 defenders go up for corners but i dont think you can control which ones without swapping their positions.

Thanks guys, haven't looked out for that, trailing late on with a corner.

But I'll have a look when I'm next in the situation.

I echo what king kev is saying, if you get a corner, in order to get them up a good thing to do is pause it and change your corner taker, and it will re load with the players in the box, then obviously change it back to your preferred taker before taking it.
