PES 2009 Goalkeeper?

I think they are much better as well. There have been a few times when fumbled but not nearly as bad as 2008 and when they do parry a shot it was on tough shots and it was not in front of goal like in the past so to me so far they are good. I have seen some great saves as others have pointed out.

One game I was playing as Italy vs. France and Henry broke in pretty much alone and I thought Uh Oh but Buffon saved it. Last year imo Henry would have scored.

^^ I disagree, I have played between 10-20 matches now and I don't think 1 shot has been held. Its quite comical TBH, how do you expect a player to hold a shot with the gloves they are wearing. Looks like the keepers have borrowed Mickey Mouses gloves. Overal the whole demo is pretty shit, problem is, it aint gonna be much different to the version that I buy in 15 days.

Goalie's have been making good saves, but most of the goals i've seen have been from rebounds. :/

Chip goals are pretty hard to score.TBH i just scored one chip goal in pes08 coz i always love to dribble past the keeper on 1 on 1.I hope the keepers will be fine in pes09 and they should make Valdes better.....

why should them make valdes better hes shit in real life. the stats that hes got are too good.

A lot of the goals I'm seeing are rebounds too, I don't mind the point blank stops (that can be expected) but those shots you drill in from the side of the box are still causing havoc.

Did I hear there was a patch brought out at somestage in PES2008 that improved them? (I boycotted that version in the first week)

The keeper in my demo is in inspired form! HONESTLY
I tend to agree here. If you have it set on the easiest level the GKs aren't very "active" but if you up the difficulty I've notice that the GK is more proactive and will deflects goals at the farthest reach of his range. I wouldn't expect a GK to grab a shot aiming for the right side of the post when he's on the left side though.

For all those that believe the keepers are decent...

This happened in one of my games.

my view is that the goalkeepers are actually worse in 09 that 08. The reason for this is that they simple parry the ball all the time and 90% of the time he does it right in front of an attacker for an easy goal.

If they dont improve this it will become a joke i feel as when playing with friends the simple ways to score would be take a long shot and wait for the keeper to parry it which 99% of the time he will do.

It kind of beats the point of having to pass your way through a defence if u can just do that.
