PES 08 & 09 quite possibly the worst football games Konami EVER released in my honest opinion. PES 10 is a better game than PES 08, 09, FIFA 09 and FIFA 10. Maybe I'm just a homer lol.

PES 2008 sucked balls. I think everyone will agree to that. But I've got 2009 back in the big black mambo box and I'm loving it!

^Pes 09 was slight better than 08. But still too fast, arcadey, way too easy to dribble, etc... But if you prefer pes 09 to pes 2010 than it's your opinion.

To be frank, I prefer PES 08 over both. Something about 08. I can't put my finger on it. Yes, the graphics don't stand up to '10, but game play is better. I rarely see cheating A.I. or CPU players on unstoppable runs. PES 10, the A.I., is dreadful, with a capital D.

The infamous 90 degree turn helped me trash an opponent 18-0 in a 10-minute game time on top player level. So PES 2010>PES 2009.

That's a couple of people now I've seen that thought 2008 was good, but I thought it was poor, compared to the other current gen ones. 2009 still my fav, tho

And also if I was any of those stupid titles you said I am, I wouldn't have came here and wrote about how bad pes 09 was and that I much preferred fifa 09 to it.
For this year I never claimed pes the winner. Both are good.

For me, PES 2008 was the worst PES ever. Irritating script all over and tons of bugs.
PES 2009 was much better but the unrealistic dribbling just killed the gameplay. And of course the "auto-tackle-penalty-hey-I-didnt-do-it!" thing that was very annoying.

PES 2010 is better IMHO. However 3 things keep it away from being the best PES ever:
1) lame goalkeepers
2) terrible referees (it looks like an ice hockey game - you can be smashed by the opponents and no foul...)
3) AI too weak when attacking

The three points zizou raised, particularly the last two, are the reason why I got rid of it. On the whole, it is improved, you can see that, but the shite refs and terrible AI make it unplayable over a length of time.

i prob would of agreed about 2009 being more enjoyable for multiplayer.
but im starting to love this game now after downloading "modified gameplay by jumper" a few days ago and it makes the game so incredible.
it modifes the stats massively ,and it looks weird when you actually look at players stats but it really works and makes the game great

the only major problem i have now with this game is the brainless A.I defensive line
also i downloaded the superstar difficulty
and it is very enjoyable playing against the A.I now
they actually go for the throat rather than passing the ball about like robots
and they attack in a much more creatively ways
