That is correct, however 1080i is better for still images.A bit of advice: stick with 720p. 1080i is NOT a better resolution that 720p, because the "i" in 1080i means interlaced, while the "p" in 720p means progressive. What this means is that while you have 1,080 vertical lines of information with 1080i, only 540 of those lines are visible on your screen in each alternating field within a single frame, as opposed to 720 vertical lines of information being visible at all times in every frame with 720p
It is a common misconception that people make, thinking that 1080i is better than 720p, but it isn't. There may be some people who will argue that I am wrong, but I work in post production for television and deal with HD formats all day long. When you're dealing with a lot of movement on screen (ie - a sporting event or videogame) 720p will always look better than 1080i. Period.

at the end which is better 720p or 1080p ?

with what you said bloodyyank ill stick with 720p, but still why put 1080i in the back if you dont get that resolution, konami?? anyway, it wouldve been good to test it in 1080i just to see what the game looks like.
but yeah this game should have been 1080p from the start.
swapped mine around last night and on my TV and IMO ... the 1080i is better then 720p... not much in it though
Not sure about PES 2010 but PES 2009 used to leave a strange blur behind the ball when I had it on 1080i. I switched it to 720p and I haven't had any problems since
Think it's something to do with the fact 720p is better at dealing with fast moving images than 1080i. At least that's what I've been told?
