how exactly are they doing this on the ps3. isnt it harder to manpipulate than a pc??

the only action I would expect is for MLO to be improved for next year.

btw, nothing wrong with cutback goals, I figure 25%+ goals in real life are cut backs

I'm going to be honest here. Whenever I play a douchebag who watches every single replay and goes GOAL GOAL GOAL GOAL repeatedly on some fluke goal, I'll get the match abandoned. Not all the time, but when someone is unsporting and ruins my experience I'll quit the game (it's the only option really as I dont want to have to relogin)

What I do is alt tab to firefox then back to PES, and repeat. Sure I'll end with a loss but I still get money and don't have to waste time playing some jerk. I hardly ever qualify in competitions anyway.

So you lose 0-3 by default but still get money?

This is insane !

I am sure you are not exploiting this, but when I think of all the idiots in D5 with Messi and Ronaldo in the same team, could this be the explanation?

Can someone else please confirm this?

Montanaro, can you please answer the following:

1-When doing this, do you always lose 0-3, or do you occasionally get rewarded 3-0?

2-Is the match always listed in your match history? Or is the cancelled match sometimes not even shown in the history, as if it never happened?

3-Do you always get rewarded the money, or do you sometimes not earn anything?

Yeah I always lose 0-3 and it's in match history, and I've only done it 2 maybe 3 times and I'm pretty sure I always got the money for it.

Don't think it hurts your ranking either. Would be a great way to earn a lot of money, you could play a ton of games in a competition. But you wouldn't exactly be playing the game, which is the point of...well...the game.

Konami emailed me to say they would investigate, i checked the guys profile before online and its still in div 1 with a high rating so obviously nothings happened yet! I'll keep my eye on it - i know 100% for a fact that the guy cheated using this bandwith method and ive let konami know my true feelings about it.

I get the feeling konami know all about the bandwith cheat but they are reluctant to do anything about it because quite simply they dont know how to! Which i think for a multi billion dollar company in 2011 is absolutely horrendous!! ( why can i not just have the result re-instated? how hard is that? ) Does this bandwith cheat happen online on any other games? Again my suspicion is that the answer is no - never had my bandwith jammed playing any other game online. My friends play fifa online with no problems - Its just pi$$ poor risk assessment from konami. They'v set a bullsh1t system up thats easy for someone with a bit of knowledge (or a greek friend) to destroy the online gaming pleasure for others! What a pile of b0ll0cks!!!!

I think its safe to assume that there are more victims than cheaters.

So they either lose many many victims or a handful of cheaters as customers. There is only one answer to that.

BTW, I think it's a terrible idea to post the "theory" of cheating on the forum... Send it by private mail to someone at Konami, but posting it here only creates new cheaters...

I think its quite right to tell everyone how easy it is, its absolutely ridiculous why should we be buying the game in the first place if they cant sort this bull$hit out? Its already been mentioned in this thread and in many other threads so dont worry its not a new theory by any means!!! Anyway emailed Konami loads of times just got loads of bull$hit generic responses back saying they will investigate etc etc. It happened nearly a week ago now and the tw@t who did it to me is still at large and he's currently in a 6 game winning streak! So much for Konamis big "we will take cheating very seriously" Actually played about another 100 games since I was cheated and guess what? Still not lost connection in any other game apart from the one against PANTHRAKS (unless I was winning & someone clearly turned their comp off and i got the 3 - nil etc) I have a 20MB connection my network does not just go off and I know 100% I was cheated out of a result!! Anyway positive ending to this story - im actually tearing people apart left right and centre online now so maybe its helped my game venting all this fury at Konami!!

(They still are a big pile of sh1te and need to get their acts together though - im going to continue to email them until something gets done - im not resorting to buying that other football game that idiots buy but I wont be buying the next PES either if theres no assurance its going to be sorted. I want an honest message mano mano saying we know exactly what your saying and we're striving to fix this error at the very least - not much to ask!)

THEORY OF CHEATING

Below is my theory on how people cheat, I cannot confirm if it is true.


It is only logical to assume that cheaters throttle their network inbound connection, either by massively uploading/downloading torrents or using software like netlimiter.

This way, it would seem as if the victim’s connection has dropped, even though it did not. The cheater only made it look like he did not receive information from the victim by not allowing him to send information through. The bandwidth was jammed.

SOLUTION

One simple and fair solution would be to execute the following algorithm immediately when disconnection occurs:

IF a game is ended due to disconnection

THEN, Konami Servers should check login status of both players, Player A and Player B.

The one who is not logged on, must have quit the game, and therefore loses 3-0 by default. (intentionally or not, does not matter)

ELSE (if both are still logged on with their Konami ID’s), Konami Servers should PING check both parties, Player A and Player B.

IF Player A’s ping is erratic and Player B’s is constant and low, then assume Player A’s connection has been tampered with (intentionally or not) and will lose 3-0. (and vice versa of course)

IF both players’ pings are erratic or both are still OK, THEN disregard the match.

Something like above could sort out this cheating business, of course assuming they cheat the way I described above.

Hey may I ask you how did you solve the issue?

Now something like this happened to me as well: was playing against a mofo with 400 and something points, he was pausing at every break for a second... in extra time I scored the 1-0 and the connection crashed. Now I have that message every time I try to get back in again: You are already logged in.

Please help.
