All my main problems seem to be getting fixed like better Defender AI i think thats frustrated me the most when they step back and let the cpu in and you get cheated normally in the final miniutes of games.

The update will be automatically downloaded from 24th November, and adjusts the defender AI to allow for more consistent pressing from various situations and includes a series of alterations based on feedback from users. The difficulty and success rate of Rainbow Flicks has been adjusted to improve gameplay, while throw-ins can now be passed back to the taker. Cursor switching has been generally been improved including situations when the ball is crossed, while the way transfer fees are calculated in Master League has been reworked. Names above CPU players can also now be switched off as they mimic player settings. Shooting has also be tweaked to produce more realistic reactions and results depending on real-time situations.

Well colour me surprised, Konami have actually bothered to play their own game and clearly realised why so many were complaining!

Sniping aside im so glad they have at least attempted to fix things, hopefully they get it right, specially the cursor switching and defender AI which were abysmal bordering on game breaking.

Hopefully it will fix the defenders within BAL, as the defence in BAL make terrible decisions (kicking out the ball for a throw-in where it could easily be passed to a centre forward)

while the way transfer fees are calculated in Master League has been reworked.

Will this mean that players will be worth more realistic market values, rather than picking up players with an overall rating of 80 for less than £500 000?

Hope so. :)

whats the +1 gamespeed bug ?

On the 360, if you change your game speed to +1 your players are unable to defend, they become stationary or stutter. It's not overly common, but it has been reported previously. I have deleted the game and started from scratch but I still get the problem.

There is a power bar for shots, I would like shooting to be a bit more manual to be honest. I think the patch will cut down the amount of unrealistic volleys that happen.

nah mate there is NO power bar for shots that bar you get is for the height of your shot not power try it

altho agree about the manual shooting

My guess on what these changes will do;
Cursor-Will still select wrong players who could not possibly be useful, but they'll do it a little bit quicker.

Shooting-Will just be less open goals missed. Butt won't allow you any control over speed or direction. And certainly won't make R2 have any precision or enough power to reach the goal...wherever you are.

Defensive AI-I can never understand what Konami are saying when they talk about football, but if anything the player with the ball already has too much pressure anyway. Maybe they will actually allow you to have some control over when you try a stab tackle/put a foot in. More likely they'll just make a midfielder play far too deep so theres another defending player in the backline.

Throw-In Return Pass-I expect they'll just implement the new passing system they hyped up for half a second after throw-ins are taken.

Chants/Master League money/Rainbow Flicks i'm sure they will do seeing as they're all gimmicks

What the patch should do:
REMOVE ALL FIXING/SCRIPTING

For me this is a potential crunch moment for Konami. It's great that they are showing genuine signs of monitoring community feedback and, crucially, reacting to it.

No doubt like many others when I read the proposed improvements the recognition of cursor selection and defensive AI issues alone were enough to make this patch more than a token gesture on Konami's part.

But therein lies the rub. People are rightly pissed that these issues were in the game to start with, myslef among them. There's already alot of hyperbole being bandied about on this patch and if Konami don't deliver on what is in reality a promise open to much interpretation, they could be on the recieving end of a nasty backlash.

Don't get me wrong - I'll be lining up with the rest of them on the 24th very eager to test this patch, whether it throws my beloved option file to shit or not. But there's a palpable sense of expectation out there and it may be wiser to lower them before assuming too much.

Konami should be congratulated for considerably upping their DLC game. If it's not the patch to end all patches then I for one will be contemplating what was missed (in the hope of further tweaks) than flaming a genuinely positive step for Konami.

It shows their listening...

Yup, I think your pretty much spot on here, Im not expecting too much to be honest, just waiting to see what exactly will happen. I dont think people should expect major game play changes for the positive, but Konami are a company who sneak things in here and there which arent always mentioned in the patch releases.

An example was a patch for pes 2010, i think it was the 1st transfer update patch, but im sure the gameplay was slightly slowed down and alot of people liked that. EA are different, if they list something, you can be sure 95% of it doesnt work, makes no difference, you should see the official forums down there. People have just had enough of that game and the developers/producers are on the run.

I still use this to dictate the power of a shot depending on body position, so yes it is a power bar it just needs to have a bit more precision . When you strike a ball in real life the amount of power needed changes depending on how you approach the ball and the momentum with which the ball is moving, PES tries to replicate this.

Any news whether the patch will effect existing ML saves?

That's not right. It isn't a power bar. I never use more than the tiniest tap and have still scored plenty of goals from 25/30 yards, all absolute rifles. I score long range goals exactly the same way I score one on ones. There's no connection between how much that bar is filled and how powerful the shot is, just the height (sometimes).

The amount of power needed depends on the situation, that's the point I was making. I am not saying 80% power means the shot will travel at the same power each time, depends on body position, pressure, back-lift etc. I use these points I mentioned when shooting and it works and I see why it works. It doesn't feel random to me like many people say.
